Didn't know that Mr Compiler Explorer make videos for computerphile 👀.
I'm lucky to have been in a few @computerphile.bsky.social videos recently, bringing my total up to 13 (!?). You can laugh at my terrible camera setup with this playlist: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Surprised there's still no Assist (Voice) support in Android Auto for @home-assistant.io . Am I missing something?
Would be the last piece to replace everything with Assist.

Why This Python Performance Trick Doesn’t Matter Anymore
A deep dive into Python’s name resolution, bytecode, and how CPython 3.11 quietly made a popular optimization irrelevant.

On holiday I'm really missing my home automation setup. I've gotten so used to lights turning on automatically that using switches again feels strangely old-school 🙈.

Thinking this could be a neat HACS integration 🤔
Home Assistant makes it super easy to track the market and see what companies are up to - and best of all, it's automatable 😄

Inspired by @frenck.social’s work on the Home Assistant Config Helper extension, I’ve started building a full Home Assistant integration for VSCode 🏡.
A new extension is on the way - expect a release in the next couple of weeks! 🚀

Hm, do people still buy books for software engineering topics?
Would be interesting to know why.
I guess:
* I always did that in the past
* If it is a completely new topic
* I wanna own the knowledge aka the book
* I like that way I can read a book
But beside that? 🤔

Setting up @home-assistant.io Voice PE the mobile way is easy, but I'm genuinely impressed by how seamless it is to flash it over the wire.
I think this might be my new go-to setup method.

It would be a great feature to allow adding a birthday to a person in @home-assistant.io, so that it can be used with Assist or for automations like reminders or celebrations.
