Fatal Dapperling (Lepiota Subincarnata) which is alos known as Deadly Parasol is a deathly poisonous mushroom found in europe, asia and north america
another is this excerpt from James Drummond, describing how he could read the newspaper by the light of the Ghost Fungus. and a mention of how the aboriginal people seemed frightened of it, although his use of "poor creatures" when referring to them is...well, very 19th century...
descriptions and recollections of this fungus by two men active in mycology in the 1800s tickle me. a piece from Mordecai Cubitt Cooke's book is my favourite one, it reads almost like a gothic novel lol
found in austraila, with a few reports of being found in india as well, the Ghost Fungus is saprobic and parasitic and can be found on dead or dying trees of many different species
it isn't deadly poisonous, but the effects of consuming it are cramps and vomiting that appear pretty shortly after eating (half an hour to two hours) and lasts for hours
Happy Halloween dear fungi friends!

Sulphur Tuft (Hypholoma Fasciculare), also called Clustered Woodlover, is a common saprobic mushroom that grows on decaying deciduous trees. sometimes exhibiting bioluminescence!
the Funeral Bell is saprobic and can be found usually on decaying conifers, found in many places over the northern hemisphere and also austraila
if enough is ingested it causes deathly severe liver damage, with intense abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea and may also result in kidney failure and coma until eventually dying within a week of ingestion if left untreated

Birch Webcap (Phlegmacium triumphans) also known as Yellow Girdled Webcap is a mushroom that grows with birch, common in europe and asia and also found in north america
a mildly spooky mushroom, hope everyone's having a good and spooky october πŸ‘» I recommend going on iNaturalist (where I sourced these photos) to check out more bioluminescence photos of this mushroom, so many good ones there! πŸ’š
the Sulphur Tuft is not edible, if ingested it can take 5 to 10 hours for the symptoms to manifest. with diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and convulsions that can last days it is pretty damn poisonous!

The Blue Foot (Hydnellum Cyanopodium) or Bleeding Blue Tooth mushroom is a rare fungus only found in the pacific nortwest of north america where it grows with sitka spruce and pine trees
another name for it is Cortinarius Triumphans, and it's used nearly just as much as the current even though it's been classifeid as another genus for some time
it's edibility is debatable. according to some it is edible but other sources recommend staying clear from it as there are many webcaps that are toxic, some even deadly so, that also look similar to Birch Webcap
