Imagine if the games went Black Phone on us back in the early days and we got to hear previous night guards that got killed by the animatronics telling us different tips and tricks. Forget about phone guy, I wanna know if there are ghosts of former night guards stuck in some sort of limbo
With the new FNAF movie on the way, it's got me thinking about the games. We've dealt with a lot of paranormal lore in the series, but I'm still amazed we never got to see or hear the ghosts of night guards before us. You'd think they'd be like wandering souls or something.
I just realized I never did my Portal 2 test with the Latitude. Turned most of the settings to medium, and it's playing pretty well. It's a little floaty with some minor lag, but it's playable.
In other news, while I'm not taking apart the old Pavilion, I did repaste the Latitude. So that's fun. Also, at least now I also have a Windows ssd I can pop into the Latitude if I need it too.
Okay, I think it's safe to say I'll be sticking with the Latitude for the laptop. The old Pavilion is more than showing its age speed wise even with a fresh ssd and Windows 10 install(don't ask about Linux, unless I can get it on a disc, that laptop isn't taking the bootable usb).
I did get thermal paste for it, but it is the most annoying laptop to take apart. For now I'll just stick with the new ssd and save trying to figure out how to take it apart without breaking it another day.
I remember it being a pretty decent laptop and was what I originally played Portal 2 on when it was still only on disc. Also, I'll more than likely be installing Linux after I get it up and running. It wouldn't take the usb so I couldn't install Linux that way and I had the Windows 10 disc already.
Feeling like a tech wizard. Saving the second laptop I ever owned. And old HP Pavilion dv6. Got it a new ssd because it started doing the boot loop of death with the og hard drive in it. Don't worry, there wasn't really anything on it so I didn't lose anything. But so far I'm excited to save it
In other news, while I'm slowly enjoying the last of the games I have through the pc game pass, it feels good to finally get some things I've been wanting to get done in Blue Prince taken care of.
Finally swapped the ebay laptop over to Linux. Got GDevelop on there so I can work on and test my games, especially since the lag still seems to be an issue with the all in one and not my platformer. I'm excited to start really working on the laptop more.
I feel like xbox adding the Essentials game pass is their way of saving face for the price hikes. Sort of a way to say "look, we still have an affordable option if people complain too much about the prices". #gaming
Unless it's something I use on the daily, I have a price limit for subscriptions. I don't even pay for many streaming services anymore.
So I'm letting myself enjoy what I can while I still have it and wishlisting the games on Steam. When they go on sale I'll get them as I go. I'm really focusing on what I can afford, and a subscription over 11.99 is not that.
While I haven't been working on my games as much recently, I have been doing some game related stuff. Mostly prepping for the price hike with game pass. Going to be unsubscribing. I initially switched to the pc pass becauss it was more affordable for me. It won't be after the price hike.
Also, there has to be a difference with how Steam and the xbox app install games. I'm installing the game I got and I remember it taking literal hours to install on the xbox app. It only took a few minutes through Steam and it gave me a pop up for something I needed to play the game.
Slowly replacing the games I got through the xbox pc game pass. Once the price hike kicks in I won't be able to keep it going. Taking full advantage of what pops up on the Steam sale that was something I had access to through the pass. Already got one of them for 4.99

Everyone has the right to love and be loved, regardless of gender.
No one can infringe on the ability to express love
Something so simple has become complicated in our world
Let's all raise our voices to solve this problem and create a world where we can express love freely and openly.

Watching the current cycle back, I definitely want to add a bit more bounce to the movement. Maybe show it more in the character's hair and bandana.
I know I've been doing traditional sprites for the walk cycle to keep things easier for myself, but part of me is tempted to try some quick animation instead. Between Clip Studio and FireAlpaca, I've tried animating in both before, so it shouldn't be too difficult...probably just jinxed that. 😅
Focusing on sprite work today. Might also revisit another game I was working on as well to finally get some background art together for it. I just want to make a little progress on game work, even if it's just art. #indiedev #gamedev #solodev
Back to that walk cycle. Yes, I’m taking the lazy way out and drawing over one of the other walk sprites I did. When in doubt work smarter not harder. #art #gameart #gamedev #indiedev
Seriously, this is ridiculous. My main question is, does it have to hit every single point to count or can you summon a creature or something to either do tasks instead of attacking?

Nintendo's patent collection continues with one that seems to relate directly to Pokemon and Pikmin mechanics.
