Our local force takes action 90% of the time against reckless drivers on full reports made by cyclists.
Over half have to pay for an education course or a fine and points. A third now get warning letters.
All my reports resulted in paid courses or fines/points for drivers.
This is a great video on the joys of cycling I feel exactthe same, even if Birmingham does not have the cycling infrastructure found in London youtu.be/Dmf6aEx09Oo?...

Oops. How did that happen?

Thanks for the heads-up.
This really is worth a read. I first read this article in 1980, when it was translated into English, as part of my transport economics course. It is still, sadly, as relevant today.
Thanks to #BikeisBest for the link.

Regardless of whether the average speed in central London is between 8.7 mph and 7.1 mph, there will still be someone who complains about the new markings at St John Street, Smithfield, part of the transformation to make it more pedestrian and cycle-friendly

Zeedijk, Amsterdam in 1980 and today.
I seem to have torn the meniscus tissue in my knee. No cycling for me today. 😢
Oh, and learning that essential cycling skill. Stopping for coffee.
Today I've been working with secondary school kids on advanced cycling skills. We're planning routes, riding on multi-lane roads, using roundabouts, filtering past stationary vehicles, using advanced stop lines and shared paths. Preparing the next generation for cycling for life!

A reminder about tomorrow's #CircleTheCity. Leaving from Victoria Square at 6 PM.

All welcome, very much including relatively inexperienced cyclists who want to try out a low key group ride. It'll probably be dark by the time we finish, so bring lights!

An important video on the role of cycling in reversing the crisis in children’s health. It’s a North American perspective, but it speaks to UK experience, too. Well worth watching. youtu.be/Lqz6TjVXIxc?...

Great day cycling instructing. The sun shone, the kids loved it, they learnt a lot about riding confidently on the road, no one took a tumble, and there were no reckless drivers exposing the kids to harm.
I’ve dedicated Wednesday evenings to listening uninterrupted to two long-playing records like we used to do in the olden days. It’s wonderful.

Farage: "All over the world, you apply for a work visa - that visa is for you. Not to bring your family... That is how a normal work visa works."

Entirely untrue.

Most work visas allow dependents, including in countries that the UK competes with for labour - US, Canada, Australia and 27 EU states.
Your statement is certainly the approach held by other forces. It’s the inconsistency between forces that’s the problem.
