After a great time in Tuscany and Lake Garda, we start the long drive home in the VW ID.7 Tourer via the Italian Alps with plenty of hikes, food, and opinions from my wife. (“Bleep” button on standby!)

We had solar panels and batteries installed back in April (thanks to @heatableuk.bsky.social), and it’s been a great summer of generation. ☀️

I’m amazed at how much profit we’ve made with export. Negative energy bills are a wonderful thing!

Yeah, definitely. I'm glad they're doing their job.

I must have been a red flag as I'd driven out with three people and came back just me. (Wife and daughter flew home!)

They were pretty friendly really, unlike border controls in the US which is terrifying in my experience!

Bought camera case on Amazon. Made in Italy — nice to support European companies, I thought.

1 month later, no delivery. I called them. Seems I'll never get it because "shipments from Europe are a nightmare after Brexit".

Chinese stuff, no prob. European? Nope.

There's something not right there.

5 years ago today! My big Land's End to John O'Groats trip for charity in the Kia e-Niro with my sister-in-law, Ceci. We had massive support from the EV community and raised £3,300 for charity.

Back then a trip like that seemed quite a big deal. These days? So easy! ⚡️
