this is really irritating, bc ofc me calling udemy as a pile of slop will actively harm my income. the nuance of "it depends on the course creators" will likely get lost, especially as people rightly assume that some cut of their payments will not go to many of the teachers on there doing good work,

as an educator more than arguably anyone else you rely on trust from your students. not trust that you're infallible, but that atleast you're trying, that providing correct and useful information is actually a priority of yours. genAI is anything but that.

ik even universities are pushing genAI on their teachers to generate course materials these days. how they don't see what an awful idea this is is truly puzzling to me.

i see udemy as akin to my employer and as such i don't feel fully responsible for their actions. yet i'll still have to live with being on that site somehow even though i could make the decision to just boycott them entirely. i can't afford to tho.

this is really upsetting bc sales on udemy are a somewhat significant part of my income. making money is hard enough already as is.

sort of, its also just about the flow of the two waves into eachother, phase aligned subs just sound more fused to the kick. this is admittedly subtle, the only way for me to really hear a difference is to really crank my speaker volume, on any system that doesnt reproduce bass well itll be inaudibl
