Day 4: Downspout routed toward a drain to the street. Slow going in the grass because they have to cross three buried electrical lines, a buried cable, and a buried water line.

I was a college computer nerd at the time, and I was impressed at how well they captured the social awkwardness and sense of isolation in the guys who were "mentoring" Broderick. And Mr. Chubby running down the stairs! Priceless!

Day 3: Cutting a slice from the concrete pool deck to run a downspout drain for the corner where three roofs meet with no place to go. This has been a long standing standing water problem.

Day 2: Electrics fixed, first drain trench installed, fence removed, more grading...

Grading done where a retaining wall will defend the pool from runoff.

Repaired underground electrics awaiting reburial.

(The first time I saw one, my reaction to the aesthetic was something between a guffaw and a gag, but on a more objective scale, production of the SSR didn't shut down until there was an entire year's worth of factory output sitting on the lots unsold. Nobody want to call out the emperor's boxers.)

The Pool Saga Continues...
Those who've watched the horrors of stormwater overflow into the pool have seen me grumble about filling it in. Well, instead of that, we're having some serious drainage installed: retaining wall, french drains, catch basic, pipe to street.

Swimming pool in need of a retaining wall to prevent stormwater incursion.

Ditch for drain pipe to carry away stormwater.

Damaged electrical feed that wasn't buried deep enough.

Beginning of drainage outflow that will lead to the street.
