I'm a writer. I do get to decide if genAI text is art. It isn't. I have written plenty of stories and I know what is required to make a good story. You do not. Unless you can show me a portfolio of things you have written to allow you to tell me I can't decide what qualifies for my field.

That's not ironic though. Abstract expressionism and splatter painting have meaning; that movement was a style of expression. There is intentionality and meaning behind the methodology. How it was created was integral to the meaning of the piece.

There is, of course, a good reason to block people, mainly personal sanity.

But it also destroys context that I think is sometimes important to address.

And it sets up a blank canvas for the next person to indulge the same behavior.

It also allows the abuser to escape without consequences.

That doesn't mean definitions must be rigid, nor that they cannot change over time, but rather language is not up to a single person to define or defy.
