"Hey Grok, I don't have time to read some long fucking trilogy. Give me a paternalistic, fascist take on the hobbits of the Shire, and tie it to racist themes involving a recent murder in the news."
#bluejays #Dodgers #worldseries

The Blue Jays seem to do well when they use the "prevent opposing hitters from making contact" strategy.

They should just make it their default.
As life philosophies go, I'm going to rate that a 7.5 out of 10.
It comes down to two simple questions: do the Dodgers do enough of the little things right? and minimize the number they do wrong? Because the Jays are taking care of business (in addition to the exciting headline stuff) and at this point the Dodgers need to decide if they want to beat themselves.
You're assuming game 7 doesn't go 18 innings while trying to break a 5-5 tie.
April? He actually thinks he'll still be ambulatory and coherent in April?
I had a random thought pop into my head a few weeks back: What if Canada, Sweden, and Japan were to collaborate on a new clean-sheet Gen 5.5/6 fighter design - both for domestic use and export sales? The threat environment is similar in that each country has a hostile and unpredictable neighbour.
Not the kind of thing I love being right about, but here we are...
Everything this administration does can be perfectly understood through one simple lens: more than anything else, the Trump regime values belligerence. If an action maximizes belligerence, its worth doing even if it makes no sense according to any other standard.
There's an alternate universe in which Pages got the start, and grounded out 4 times spoiling this stat.
2/ Will everyone start obsessing about release height? Will it spawn a whole generation of young pitchers who try to master an "over the top" delivery - even if it's not a great match for them?
Thought experiment: Let's assume Trey Yesavage goes on to fulfil most of the potential he obviously has - say 150 wins, a bunch of K's, and a couple Cy Young awards over the next decade... /1
And sometimes it's an old talent using sheer willpower to turn the clock back a decade. Exhibit A: Max Scherzer, who will be starting game 7 should it come to that.

This photo of rookie Yesavage casually walking off the mound as future Hall of Famer and helmet-less Ohtani is still in motion striking out is everything. #WantItAll
The next battle? Expectation management coming into 2026. It would be real easy for everyone - Yesavage included - to lose perspective.
Occasionally an event comes along that doesn't ... at which point the appropriate people get busy creating a new arcane statistical domain to house that new event.

"Mr. Johnson, What are your thoughts on oxygen, as life-sustaining input to human breathing?"

"Oxygen? Never heard of that. I'd need to take some time to learn about that before I comment."
And yet here we are all tied up. Let's all just agree that these are two *really* talented teams, each with their own special sauce, giving us on one of the most entertaining World Series matchups in quite a while.
As a Blue Jays fan let me just say: fifteen year old kids watching today will be talking about seeing Ohtani play fifty years from now.
