You don’t need to understand a book for it to be really good (Gideon the Ninth style).

Many books are meant to be reread, but most people don’t, and that leads to shallower thinking/opinions of them.

yeah that book (Bandersnatch) is really great insight into the friend group, but also great for writing. I really recommend it if you’re interested in Tolkien!
