Robert Thorne is the author of the first full-length study of Wyatt’s work, in the Victorian Society's Victorian Architects Series of monographs, which was published by LUP in spring of this year. The book is available to buy on our website shop.

Wyatt was project manager to the Great Exhibition and spent his final years advising the South Kensington Museum. He played a key part in mid-Victorian developments in architecture, design and museum display.

Shotley Park, a Grade II listed house in Consett, has been on fire overnight. County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service have been working to put out the blaze last night and during today. There was an application in 2024 to turn it into a hotel🧵

Our lecturer Mark Bertram’s monograph on Ricardo (his great-grandfather) was published by Lund Humphries in March.

He was an engaging personality, as well as a forward-looking thinker. gifted lecturer and essayist, his architectural work, most famously No. 8 Addison Road, London (for Ernest Debenham in 1905) was often highly individualistic in its innovative use of colour and glazed materials.

Lady Charlotte Shreiber was a woman who subverted gendered norms and challenged Victorian conventions, Schreiber made major contributions to ceramic history and cultural education, and played an influential role in transnational artistic networks.
