I've been thinking more about what I said yesterday regards my biggest flaw as a GM; not coping well with a lack of player engagement with the plot, and the game as a whole.

It's made me realise that's why I've been drawn to systems with some explicit structure, or tools to help in that regard.

The week-end is already ending and I just had time to play a bit of octopath traveler! Finish the storyline for Ophelia and got my ass kick a couple of time! It is great jrpg if you never played it, but it is different and you must keep an open mind to the more loose narrative structure.

I am on the end of a 1 month hiatus from ttrpg because it was feeling like a chord to GM my games. It did get better! Let see how the first game back feel like and hope I got my magic back.

BG3 is a so great to have a feeling like d&d! I hope you can work through your social anxiety to find a proper campaign someday, because it is a great way to have a social activity in a closed environment and taking it at your speed! You can do it! 🙌

I use the original box that they are coming in by removing the tray. It works if the dungeon is not to big. If the dungeon is bigger than that, I use my travel bag and split the dungeon in 2 or 3 parts. This is less of a wow moment since there is assembly, but still better than not having it!

I hear you! You could to check at your local game store if they have adventure league or local game to join. If you don't mind playing online you can also find group to play with! Playing with stranger can be intimidating and you won't know if they fit beforehand, but you are not attach to them.

You don't need to RP to start playing and, this is the important part, there is not a right way to play it. The only wrong way is trying on purpose to ruin other fun, but except of that you can play it as you want. Some table play it like a boardgame with minimal RP and other the other way around!
