Our first post to say ‘hello’ and to give a visual flavour of the woodland landscape in the Chilterns Hills between Ivinghoe Beacon and Goring.
That’s impressive progress John, do you ever feel tired at the end of the day?
Are you walking the length of the GCW this summer?

Congratulations to the first Ridgeway 50 Photo’s young winner Aleksander, with photographer Matt Writtle at the Swire Ridgeway Arts Festival today.
We are hoping to see many more talented young artists be inspired by the landscape along our Ridgeway National Trail.
We love it when a plan comes together! Thank you Lilian from #SharpShotsPhotoClub for enabling us to see the Ridgeway National Trail through the eyes of youngsters representing local schools along the Trail.

Will do thank you. Congratulations on completing the Trail, where to next?
Congratulations, what was your highlight?
Tom has almost completed his Ridgeway National Trail walk, with the final section to Ivinghoe Beacon. Looking forward to seeing your photos!
It was day 5 on @theridgewaynt.bsky.social and the journey was from the M40 to Hastoe. Steeper sections today and a strong tail wind, but the sun shone which lit up the views to the north from the various vantage points. There were (just) enough benches on the #hike, but more is always merrier!
You may bump into @123tomc.bsky.social who is also finishing today.
Well done, you’re almost at Ivinghoe Beacon. Which means you qualify for our Ridgeway Hall of Fame! Can you please complete a short online survey that will help us understand users’ experiences, and send a photo of you on the Trail to the email address. Link follows.

Plenty of activity out on the Trail today: huge bumblebees, butterflies, a patch of very early bluebells, a horse in a smart new coat and so many lambs. Please keep your dogs on a lead and under control when passing through their nursery fields.
Thank you!
What’s to spot along the Trail in March? Majestic trees awaking from their winter slumber, bouncing lambs, colourful cottages and tiny path-side flowers.
