Under-discussed aspect of the Mamdani win is the way it broke the Dem and Republican kayfabe. We all saw Cuomo make the initial pitch of “only I can stand up to Trump” and then, once he lost the primary, flip straight into appeasement mode as if they had been allies all along. Because they had.

Legit had their data guy saying fucking garbage. (Saying that without Sliwa it would have been close, as if all those votes would have just 1:1 transferred to Cuomo) and then compare it (unfavorably) to a different Democratic win in a two candidate race with entirely different circumstances.

Turned on the news and they are literally trying to downplay the Mamdani win as actually pretty close and not by the margins of other places (that had two person races.) It’s fucking sickening and obvious.

Extraordinary how many establishment Democrats really wish they didn't have a talented rising new star who connects to people by talking to them and understanding what their interests are, then speaking to those interests.
