#OldAlbumOctober Day 31: Whilst their back catalogue has its peaks and troughs, this is an amazing absolute classic. Perfect production, riffs to die for, bat-shit gothic keyboards, etc Just doesn't get much better than this

"Care for some necrophilia?" indeed...
#OldAlbumOctober Day 30: Happy memories of Bradford Rio's where I spent many a happy night in the 90's watching bands as diverse as WASP through a Paradise Lost warm-up gig to Agnostic Front and many, many more....
#OldAlbumOctober Day 29: ...and from one favourite band with a big back catalogue with only one suspect album to another
Always loved this song
#OldAlbumOctober Day 28: Had to include some Motörhead on here somewhere. Love pretty much everything they did (even "March or Die" has it's (albeit rare) moments, but this being the best alum they released outside of the "Classic Lineup" era is a hill I'm prepared to die on
#OldAlbumOctober Day 27: Had to pick up some bits yesterday, needed a suitable soundtrack to help face the Sunday Shopping Zombie Hordes, hit "random" on my phone
This was the selection and a thoroughly suitable choice I'm sure you'll all agree (Possibly saved a few lives and me a prison sentence)
Admittedly, I've absolutely no idea who he is or who his band are, but it takes him 3 hours to put makeup on?!? (Although in fairness a couple of my ex girlfriends could give him a run for his money 😀)
But you also get a necklace

For 3 grand

And someone has actually taken him up on it

Speechless
#OldAlbumOctober Day 26: Not been impressed by any Testament release since "Formation of Damnation" so not bothered with their latest.

Instead, digging this out by a band that I'm sure will be the first to admit that they may have been oh-so-slightly influenced by Chuck and company...
Think there may be a reason why "it's never been done before"
#OldAlbumOctober Day 25: As there's a trend for bands getting back together, I'm undecided in this case if it would be a good or bad thing (if indeed it happened)
Three awesome albums, each slightly better than the previous - would a fourth spoil it (although Coroner have shown what's possible)
#OldAlbumOctober Day 25: Sadly missed them when they played with Faith No More in 1990 and it possibly sounds a little "of its time" but that's also a good thing. They don't write 'em like this any more 😀

(Also featured comedian Steve Hughes on drums at one point of their career fact fans...)
Be interesting to know many left after Megadeth
#OldAlbumOctober Day 23: Some albums (and bands) are like toastie makers. You forget about them for a while, remember them, dig it out, use it constantly for a few weeks then forget about them for a while, rinse and repeat
Exhibit A. Love it and forgot how much I love it every time I dig it out
#OldAlbumOctober Day 22: Sadly probably more relevant than it was 30-odd years ago, as much as I love Killing Joke, I have to listen to them in moderation as I usually end up in a bad mood for the rest of the day. It's like listening to George Carlin routines put to music
@goc1978.bsky.social I know you don't do "the other place" any more, but thought I'd pass this on (the fact that "Predator 2" not only is below "The Predator" but not even on the list tells me everything I need to know...)
#OldAlbumOctober Day 21: If Pete Steele (RIP) was still around, I can only begin to imagine him pissing himself laughing at those that spectacularly miss the irony and humour in his music in these "enlightened times', this album in particular
#OldAlbumOctober Day 20: Still undecided on the new album (could a half decent production job have saved it?), so in the meantime back to a classic (and a reminder that Anthrax have the second best song inspired by Judge Dredd...)
#OldAlbumOctober Day 19: Been a huge Overkill fan since the 80's and DD Verni is possibly my biggest reason for picking up the bass (and then actually trying to learn how to play it 30 years later), so his side project was a no-brainer
Completely different from his day job but certainly interesting
#OldAlbumOctober Day 18: In an alternative universe somewhere, this album got the kudos and sales it deserved, John Bush is still the vocalist and you can go to an Anthrax gig and not know the tired set list.
Unfortunately...
Maybe this album should have been titled "Why We Can't Have Nice Things"
About to give it it's initial spin (got this and the new Biohazard)

Funny how things turn out. Couple of weeks ago it was new releases from Paradise Lost and Senser on the same day (two bands I've loved since the early 90's) and now these two today

Your music really does grow old with you! 🤣
It's certainly been interesting going back and playing albums I haven't played for years (and even decades in some instances)
This one in particular holds up so well
By way of comparison, seem to remember XFM playing the Kula Shaker cover of Deep Purple's "Hush" in tribute to the passing of John Lord back in the day (it was on the office radio at the time)
#OldAlbumOctober Day 17: ....and speaking of Dimmu Borgir, can't beat a good (storm)blast of this. Forgot how bloody HUGE the production is! People talk about the work of Bob Rock on "The Black Album", but this is on another level

"Pure Fucking Armageddon" indeed....
As I say, criminally underrated writer with a very distinctive style

Sure you already know about the YouTube reviews he used to do, they were hilarious!
Admittedly, not heard it for a very long time, but don't remember it being THAT bad... (Feck, I hope I'm right on that one!)
Dom Lawson used to write some great articles for them at one point (and possibly still does). Criminally underrated writer
