So no, it doesn't surprise me there's a survey asking people whether or not those people had an impact on whether you chose to plunk down cash for a set. You occasionally see the same thing in video games about content creators or review scores. This is where we are now. #MTG #MagicTheGathering

But to deny that negative creators don't have an influence on player opinions, buying decisions, turnouts for events, and the overall success/failure of every set is gullible at best and ignorant at worst. Like it or not, they do have an influence over the game. #MTG #MagicTheGathering

Yes, there are content creators who give a fair opinion, just as there are those who overhype a set with positivity, or just open packs to show cards, or open packs to sell them on the third market. They are equal parts promotion for #MTG and snake oil salesmen. #MagicTheGathering

There ABSOLUTELY are content creators in the MTG space who make videos and social media, trashing almost every single set that comes out for various personal reasons, because that's how they make their living.

i don't feel like magic set surveys usually have this question and i don't appreciate the implication that content creators, who do so so much for the game, are possibly to blame for a bad set's poor performance. 👎
