My Halloween saga is a trilogy of Halloween 1, 2 and 4. I don’t consider 4 any part of the Thorn-stuff. These three movies make a complete story for me. I call it the “Evil Never Dies” trilogy.

We were all doing mental gymnastics with it because we all just wanted a good Halloween movie. While part 5 is far from my favorite, it had its moments. Frankly, the whole sequence where Michael is pretending to be Tina’s boyfriend was rather inspired.

H5’s mask doesn’t even try to resemble the Shape, which is all the worse because it literally begins seconds after the end of part 4.

I don’t know if there will be another game like #slaytheprincess for me. To say this horror/romance gets me in the feels is an understatement. It’s a nightmare that has you near tears of longing sorrow. It’s a gentle analysis of the meaning of death in the trappings of body horror. It’s brilliant.

May I counter that with one caveat? There are people out there, such as myself, that if I didn’t create, I would die. If you don’t give 10 sh!ts about financial success, keep going. Never stop. It is nutrition for your soul.
