Yeah, not ideal but with leoni injured we’re struggling for CB cover as well. Could start Chiesa right and Ngamoha left but not sure he’ll start Río outside of domestic cups.

It is a bit of both. He’s had the ball in dangerous positions lots of times and been wasteful. Could be not knowing his teammates well enough but I’d expect a little better.

The fact that every player, manager, coach in football faces intense scrutiny and has to face up and answer questions about their performance yet, referees get to offer up shit (or bias) and know they can wander off with zero questions to answer. One big boys club.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could hear from Michael Oliver after the game about why he made some of his decisions? Instead we have the biggest underperforming and the least scrutinised organisation officiating the biggest league in the world. It’s a mess.

Never mind playing on with a head injury, their keeper literally dropped the ball and picked it up again and he just waved play on. Just not applying the rules of the game.

Sadly we lost, so talking about it will be construed as sour grapes, but Michael Oliver was a genuine disgrace yesterday - and not for the first time in our games. I don’t care if I sound like a conspiracy crank, a Newcastle supporter who we *know* has been paid by City’s owners shouldn’t ref us.

I could easily be being reactionary. I just find it so frustrating seeing the same thing happen over and over again. Surely they can see it and find a way to stop it.

Doesn’t look like we have any idea on how to get the best out of Wirtz or Isak, which is unforgivable. Bought Kirkez and using him in no way how he played at Bournemouth. We’ve papered over the cracks and now look a shambles.

The talk of giving Slot a new contract needs to stop. Biggest spend in our history and I get players need to gel but we’re shapeless with no identifiable patterns of play. Conceding the same goals every game.
