Stunning hi-def photo of right-to-left Bruce shark from #JAWS being worked on at Easterbrook and Norton's boat shed in Edgartown, where the props were built. The sharks were completed here, then taken to ‘Shark City' afterwards.

#Jaws The Revenge: Vengeance (the given name to the animatronic shark) was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor in this movie, thus making him the first animal nominated for one since Jaws 3-D's "shrieking dolphins," Cindy and Sandy.

Spielberg’s biggest fear while filming #Jaws - besides the faulty shark—was the camera catching land. He wanted no escape in sight, isolating the audience just like the characters.

The Orca started sinking. Spielberg sent boats to save the actors. Sound mixer John R. Carter, water to his knees, holds his Nagra overhead and screams:

“F**k the actors, save the sound department!”

(The film stock survived too—it turns out developer solution is saline.) #jaws

There were two 300 pound weights attached to Susan Backlinie that were being tugged by two groups of crewmen on shore. One group would pull right, and the other would pull left. #JAWS director Steven Spielberg performed the first pull / ‘bite.’
