Story in @theglobeandmail.com about our client who was seriously injured near Ottawa. But for his daughter & our team he would have been deemed at fault. We used GPS data from his bike computer to prove the driver was at fault & police got it wrong:

Which doesn’t mean there’s nothing to be done. Council actually has a traffic-calming plan for Parkside that would involve infrastructure aimed at moderating drivers’ speeds. The holdup, Perks said, is that a key part of the plan is adding separated bike lanes.

“The province of Ontario has brought in legislation that makes it difficult to put bike lanes in,” Perks said, “and they have yet to promulgate the regulations for what municipalities need to do in order to satisfy them that a new bike lane is worthwhile.”

Police in Airdrie, Alberta (just north of Calgary) say this driver hit a 17-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk, got out of the vehicle, and appeared to get upset at the teenager before driving away.

They released this video and are now trying to identify the driver.
