I don’t think it’s an exclusionary choice. If people only feel capable of non-violent, nigh sanctioned protest, I still think they should do it and explore the boundaries of what that means for them.
It’s great recruitment ground for smaller support organizations, and personally I find it hopeful and heartening to walk among thousands of people irl and be reminded that I’m not at all alone in my outrage.
If this form of protest were unavailable, the libs you’re referring to wouldn’t turn to more radical measures, they would simply do nothing but post on social media. Mass protest that’s accessible to families and the elderly is just one important face of a resistance strategy with many faces.
