Nebula kit being knit up in @ambahobrien.bsky.social magiclandswrap design 🧶

I seriously couldnt be more thrilled with how this is knitting up. Im loving the little pools of light scattered and bunched up in the dark section. Love the stepped band of the main colour along the right side 😍#knitsky

The mini skeins are being added in numerical order (1 to 24) with the larger ball of yarn used continuously on the right side.

The minis start at a dark brown and progress through to light caramels, then pinks and light blue. They are all heavily speckled and have a light section which has caused pooling in the knitting

I made a start on my brioche border of my mkal shawl

Im planning on doing the 3 brioche sections but im also itching to cast on a special testknit as well so i might set this aside for a little bit 🤔

A scrunched up shawl in a white background

The shawl is quite large and visually complex. So its difficult to describe

The colours are dark bright blue, pink, purple and a yellowish preachy colour

The left side of the photo shows 2 balls of yarn (blue and pink) with the diamond and “woven” section of slip stitches. Above the slipped stitch section is a border of brioche knitting with the blue on the front side and the pink on the reverse.

I have yarn in the oven, tomorrow I will be working at the garden centre so today is for knitting 😍

I have one of this kit thats dyeing now on singles (Electric Blue, Purple Blush, Pink Dream, and Peach Burst on mohair and singles) in the shop.

There is a LOT going on (Stephen West’s mystery knits are always very visually complex)

The colours are a dark bright blue, a lilacish purple, a warm pink and a peachy orange with splashes of neon yellows.

On the left there is a slip stitch section that looks like a woven pattern, below that is a diamond pattern in repeating rows of colour. Scrunched up at the bottom right is a section of repeating “fan” shapes and above that is a ripples squiggle section that has thinner stripes at the middle of the shawl which become larger at the right edge

Same arrangement of the shawl as the previous section but the focus is on the diamonds and slipped stitches. The other sections are still visible at the right

Hem completed! Time to pick up stitches for the button band

I love the colour pop inspired by the bright colours of the snow gums bark.

The body of the cardigan is displayed with its back and sleeves visible. The left sleeve cuff is a dark blue and this colour progresses along the sleeve to dark greens then across the body it shifts to lighter greens, greys, creams and soft caramel tones before the right sleeve where the brown tones deepen to a dark brown cuff.

The hem is a bright golden mustard colour (i find it hard to describe!) the matching balls of yarn are at the bottom right of the photo. They will be used for the button band

Time to start on the hem!

Going to organise the 🧶 that arrived today & post some more packages. So popping this aside for a bit

The body and sleeves of the cardigan have been knit and are off the needles. From left to right the colours flow from dark blue to greens to greys to creams and finally dark brown

There is a skein of yellowish green yarn underneath the knitting to show it will be added next as the hem and collar. I will hold the same colour of mohair with it so it creates the same fabric as the cuffs.

Same photo arrangement as the previous photo but zoomed in and rotated slightly so the main focus is on the newly finished dark blue cuff and some of the body. The top of the skein of yarn also pops up at the bottom of this photograth

On the left there are 3 dark blue mini skeins and a small ball of yarn with a larger ball of mohair attached to the knitting.

The cardigan has part of the left sleeve knitted with the colours progressing to dark greens, then fading across the body to soft greys and caramels before darkening into browns for the right sleeve. The right sleeve is a bit scrunched around so it would fit into the photograph.

Under the knitting is the yarn im going to use to knit the waistband and buttonband. (Matching mohair is currently drying on the line

I dyed the yarn so it should shift across the colours without effort from the knitter 😍

The mohair helps soften some of the transitions too (except where the mohair also changes colour)

Jolly Cardy being test knit for @ambahobrien.bsky.social using my Winter Whisper kit on Singles with mohair held double. Im using 5 colours of mohair for the body and Im dyeing up the same contrast colour on mohair for the button & waistband 🧶

In the middle of the photo there is the cardigan being knit. The left sleeve is currently being knit while the body and right sleeve have been created. Its a little scrunched up as its too big to fit into the photo. The colours shift from left to right from dark greens, to greys to soft caramels and finally browns.

Underneath the cardigan is a bright greenish yellow skein which will be used for the waistband and buttonband

Testing the Jolly Cardy for @ambahobrien.bsky.social using my Winter Whisper kit with the 5 mohair options, thinking of dyeing a 6th & using the bright 100g skein for the waistband & collar held with the same colour mohair 🧶#knitsky
