Pitchers who rake - I kind of remember he and Fernando being decent with the bat (which probably means like .200 with 10 rbis)

I couldn’t easily find a longer list but where does 1988 Orel wind up? 6 games 1.05 era, 3 cg, 2 shut outs and a save.

Episode 6 of task was good enough to have been a series finale.

The Battleship Potemkin (1925) is still very watchable and much funnier than a Soviet movie about the revolution should be

Fuck the certain price of goods would be a good tattoo that only a certain population of China expats from 1995 - 2010 would get

Fuck the Green Beans!

Not only was Powerword always wrong, but it made using my colleagues laptops so unusable. And then halfway through a paragraph it’d switch to Chinese because I hit tab or crtl or something.

I watched Inherent Vice, didn’t like it. Then read the novel, again didn’t get it. Then watched the movie again - both the movie and novel made a lot more sense but still didn’t push it into something I liked.

Lucy, Michelle and David.

I swear, HR people. She earned snitch status that day.

Once they came to our office to do a work permit check and all the (white) foreigners were out at lunch, me + a couple Chinese foreigners were working/eating. They poke their heads in, don’t see any “foreigners” and prepare to leave and our HR rep says “oh there’s foreigners here” and points to me

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

It is required in China to always have your passport on your (to be fair, Chinese citizens also need to have their ID card with them) but I didn't want to carry around my passport so I had a photo of my data page and my current residence permit on my phone. I was probably checked 10x in 15 years?

Even past Taylor records - like Midnights (2023) I heard Anti-Hero and Lavender Haze in many places - passing cars, retail and coffee shops, etc. I have paid to see Taylor in concert (1989 tour) and consider 1989 and folklore to be in my top 100 albums - I haven't heard the new one at all.
