Day 14: just a skull (any is fine) for #poorlydrawnoctober
A greyscale sketch of a bird skull

Why thanks! I mostly took photos of my own hands with a teacup so I had lots of reference

That’s very kind of you! The longer I stare at her the more my brain goes no… she’s too long… I’m glad to hear that I got the vibes right!

To you trying to hurt others. Maybe you don’t think you’re important enough for what you say to cause harm, or maybe you think this is some truth that everyone secretly knows and is lying to you about, but when you get into this kind of space you have the capacity to hurt people, not with your fic.
teleportwarning.bsky.social
Leo my friend, your fic is not harming people. However, taking the hurt you feel when you encounter anti rhetoric and perpetuating it on everyone who will talk to you IS doing real harm to real people. When you start in with stuff like this is when it transitions from being about you being hurt

Back to #poorlydrawnoctober for day 13: a whole skeleton. I only drew half a skeleton.
A simple sketch of the revenant from nightreign and her half a skeleton summon

Day 11: sting
That’s right it’s time for hollow knight fanart
Fanart of Hornet at Kingdom’s Edge, gesturing with her needle

Day 10: sweep (also water)
An illustration of one of the brooms from fantasia, carrying two buckets of water

Day 9: someone holding a teacup (I have decided a sinistea is a teacup) #poorlydrawnoctober
Three illustrations of a pair of hands, colored ghostly white and purple, holding the pokemon Sinistea

Day 8 of #poorlydrawnoctober: the character you were obsessed with when you were 12, the one and only Sailor Saturn. Going for extra poorly drawn and throwback style with a pseudo ballpoint pen look
A rough ballpoint pen style digital illustration of Sailor Saturn with her glaive

What’s cooler than one swords? TWO swords! What’s cooler than two swords? Two swords, but on fire!

Day 7: sword (for #poorlydrawnoctober) and fire (for all fandoms promptober) combined for the idea for this one— cool fire sword lady, Rellana.
A digital illustration of Rellana from Elden Ring, holding her flaming sword overhead and her magic sword in front of her

I feel like my interest in my hobbies kind of comes and goes— sometimes I spend all weekend sewing, sometimes I don’t touch the machine for months. I haven’t drawn except when required to recently and now I’m doing the inktober type prompts to see if I can get some mojo back.

The photo I actually took of the boat. Of course, with long exposure, its multiple headlights are not really visible. Also not pictured, the occasional fish flopping out of the water.
A photo of the lake at night. The shore and part of the water are illuminated by a research boat, which appears to be mostly a blaze of white light with weird little arms sticking out.

Day 6: boat (a spaceship is also a boat) for #poorlydrawnoctober — an artistic depiction of the fish survey boat that came by a couple nights ago
A boat, or possibly a ufo, looming out of the darkness and illuminating the water around it. It has four bright headlights, a red and green headlight, and two “arms” with fingers trailing into the water

Put WAY too much effort into #poorlydrawnoctober day 5: favorite flower.
I tried to emulate the style of a reduction print, all colors are their own overlapping layers and contain everything from the layer above.
A digital illustration of a California poppy in the style of a five color reduction print.

The amount of Effort was immense and I respect your ability to empty your brain on to a page and have no idea how you do that

I do have to say as an artist I have LOVED getting to chat art ideas with someone who doesn’t art and getting to take their sketch/stick figure/little doodle and turn it into a whole picture. It’s very fun and collaborative.
teleportwarning.bsky.social
Well, more like, for artists I think the low stakes chaos is when we chat with writers about headcannons and possible plot snippets! Anything more than that and we’re approaching the writer equivalent of a fully rendered illustration.
teleportwarning.bsky.social
(Sorry I’m just crashing in here we may be moots-in-law? Fascinating concept but I feel like maybe feels different from the writer side than the artist one!)
teleportwarning.bsky.social
I’m so glad you feel that way about art everyone should get to do a low stakes doodle. As an artist I have written fic once and it was sure an experience I don’t feel compelled to repeat! We all write a little to communicate but actual creative writing is sure a skill I have put no points in

Thanks! I had fun (?) trying to render the transparency
