A Miniature Manifesto
After some heavy deliberation I am embarking on a pretty ambitious project. I am making a 1:20 miniature Whirling-in-Rags from Disco Elysium, starting with Harry’s room. But in true Za/um style I have written a manifesto.

This week's update I'm going to focus on completing the tape player and speakers.

Though I like the chunky style of my speakers I might try to make a slimmer version.

A miniaturised stereo system sits on a wooden block within a diorama. The stereo system is made up of a tape player nestled within a suitcase-like container. Two speakers are metallic grey, thin, tall and rectangular. The miniature tape player sits on a miniature credenza; a paper mock of the speaker sits beside it to size up the space. The finished miniature stereo system is set up on the credenza. The portable tape player sits in the middle of the player. Left of it is one of the tall tin speakers, purposely not straight to the cabinet. The second speaker is lying on its back on the floor of the diorama leaning on the credenza.

Trying to cut it as an info broker in #OVER/UNDER is getting to me. I see some irl news, I think "oh, I could sell this for a few creds." This game is genuinely changing how I see the world (I think that's a good thing??)

It is bath time! Starting with a paper craft model of a bathtub from Canon. After taping it up, I decided to paper mache it 😮‍💨 Not sure I am 100% happy with it but it fits well in the bathroom.

My approach of using carboard for cabinetry and using layers of acrylic paint to make that veneer finish comes from DIY Hobby see 6 minutes.

I used the following solid oak sideboard as inspiration for the overall dimensions for the cabinet.

Harry’s room’s sideboard/entertainment unit is now complete. I am particularly happy with how the hinge for the glass lid came together.

Unionized workers with @kickstarterunited.org are poised to strike if the crowdfunding platform's management doesn't approve their new contract.

The union has demanded a four-day workweek, minimum living wage salaries, and protections against generative AI encroachment.
Kickstarter United workers will strike beginning October 2
Demands include enshrining the four-day, 32-hour work week in their contract.
