Appreciate your comment but this is not a take I’m referring to. It’s the notion that AI ‘actors’ will save the games industry money (essentially implying the complete replacement of human performance)

It deeply concerns me how eager some people are for gen AI to completely replace human art. We need actors, writers, artists, and all creatives to keep creating and to earn a living from sharing their work with the world. We can’t ever lose that.

“Why do we keep putting actors in video games?”

Because your fellow human beings should have work? AI can’t replace the joy of human creatives working together in the volume to tell stories. It can’t produce those happy accidents that transform a scene. Human art is real and it’s fucking beautiful.

Neil’s TEDx talk is incredibly inspiring and moving. It’s evident that Neil puts his heart and soul into every single role, including those where he is a director, producer or dramaaaah master. He has worked so hard and has earned all of the recognition and success!
