WOW! Look at this real pretty nebula I was able to get a picture of early this morning. Its got a nice blue colour with a bright blue star in the middle and . . . and . . .

Wait a minute.

Never mind. It's just a lens flare caused by the bright light from the star (Sirius) over on the right side.
This image is a closeup cropped from the original image. 2/2
With no clouds along the horizon, was able to get a good clear image of Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) early this morning above the northeastern horizon. Picture was taken with the lens at 55mm & an exposure time of 30 seconds. The white hazy spot near the bottom of image is steam from heater. 1/2 #comet
This will probably never happen again for me, but I got two meteors in the same image as Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) early this morning above the northeastern horizon. With a magnitude of 4.6, this comet can now easily be seen by the unaided eye. It will look like a green hazy spot in the sky. #comet
Venus and our Moon near each other this morning above the eastern horizon about an hour before sunrise. #astronomy #astrophotography #space #venus #moon
The positions of our moon and Venus above my eastern horizon at 7:00am this morning. Tomorrow morning our moon will be just to your right of Venus. It won't be considered a conjunction, but it will be something worth seeing. Our moon will have a thin crescent along the bottom, looking like a smile.
longer exposure time, I was able to get a brighter image of the comet and some of its tail. This last picture is a cropped closeup.

Will try again tomorrow morning. Hopefully there's no clouds in the way. 3/3
an exposure time of 30 seconds. The comet is barely visible through the clouds. The flash near the top right is from a dead Naval Ocean Surveillance System (NOSS) satellite.

These next two pictures were taken with the camera lens set at 55mm with an exposure time of 60 seconds. With the 2/3
Even-though there were clouds this morning along my northeastern horizon, I was still able to get a picture of comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) and a bit of its tail in some of the thin areas of the clouds.

Pictures were taken at 5:20 – 5:35am. The first two pictures were taken with an 18mm lens with 1/3

JD Vance has excused the leaked racist messages from the young Republicans group chat as “kids being kids” and “just mistakes.” But who really gets to be a kid in this country? And what kinds of kids are allowed to make mistakes?
She may not look like it, but Blondie is happy to finally get back into the back yard after being kept out of it due to the three days of heavy rain. She still can't go into the field with the burros; there is still standing water and large mud puddles.
Last year we had an early freeze and my Maximilian Sunflowers did not bloom. This year I have blooms. The flowers are named for Prince Alexander Philipp Maximilian zu Wied-Neuwied, a German explorer, ethnologist and naturalist. #Flowers
what size it was at. Surprised to see the carrot was red. 2/2
Still have beets, sweet peas and carrots growing in the back garden. Will have to start covering them at night. Will be getting into the lower 30s for the next couple of days. Everything should be ready to pull by the end of this month. Pulled one of the carrots out just to see 1/2 #gardening
Dracaena marginata (Dragon Tree), Arrowhead Vine, Schefflera (Umbrella Plant) and Gold Dust Croton. Each one is now in its own pot and none too soon. Will have to bring all my house plants (43 of them) back into the house due to us getting down to 30 degrees the next couple of mornings. 2/2
Busy morning today. Got the A/C's out of the windows and put away, plastic over all the windows (except the kitchen window), and re-pottered some new house plants. My son and daughter-in-law got me a planter with six different plants in it: Dracaena corn plant, Dracaena Dorado, 1/2 #Houseplants
On October 21, 2025, Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) will be located just below the “belt” stars of the Orion constellation. 4/4
Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) is at magnitude 5 and expected to brighten to a magnitude of 4.76 on November 1. As of tonight, October 14, this comet is just above the northwestern horizon in the constellation of Canes Venatici (between the constellations of Ursa Major and Coma Berenices). 3/4
As of tonight, October 14, this comet is about 25 degrees above the southwestern horizon in the constellation of Serpens. Each night it will about 3 – 4 degrees higher than the night before and drifting towards the south. How much brighter it gets is unknown. 2/4
With a clear night before more clouds move in, I was able to get pictures of the two comets that are now brighter than magnitude 6.

Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) is at magnitude 6 and keeps getting brighter. It was forecasted to get no brighter than a magnitude of 9.1 back on September 22. 1/4
