Anyways I mention this because although I am white, my whiteness is complicated (don’t get me started about my redheaded children with their Black mom) and so you know that when I say things like “Columbus was a murderer,” and founded a long line of murders, I am being extremely serious and personal

More American Indians look like me than look like we did pre-contact because, well, this is one of the ways we’ve survived (those of us who managed to survive). Also a lot of lousy and coerced land deals. Mistakes (and inevitable assimilation and deliberate genocide) were made.

One thing my followers might not know about me is that I am Ojibwa Indian, of the Lake Superior and Bad River Chippewa. This is not obvious because my mom is also French Canadian (pretty popular combo) and my dad 100% Irish, with both parents from Kerry. So I just have red hair and great cheekbones.
