Well, here's mine. My name is Taylor Wettach, and I'm a 7th-generation Iowan. I quit my job as a lawyer after my law firm caved to Trump. Now, I'm running for Congress to flip Iowa's 1st and take back the House.

Congresswoman Miller-Meeks promised a telephone town hall (whatever that is). Despite registering, I was somehow left off the invite, but was able to get on the call thanks to Johnson County Democrats sharing the number.

We had a wonderful evening meeting folks at the Henry, Van Buren, Lee, Des Moines and Jefferson County Hall of Fame event! Thank you to all the organizers for putting together the great event.

It was also wonderful celebrating the hard work of all the Hall of Fame awardees.

Time and time again, I am overwhelmed by the support we receive. This campaign isn’t about me. It’s about all of us. It’s about Iowa.

Harvest season should be a time for Iowa’s farmers to feel proud of a year’s hard work.

But this year, that’s not the case thanks to far-right Republicans.

Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs have sparked a farm crisis by destroying our biggest market for soybeans: China.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks literally just told her constituents- us- that she’ll hold town halls “when hell freezes over.” That’s not leadership. That’s cowardice.

I’m Taylor Wettach. And unlike Miller-Meeks, I believe democracy means showing up.

Far-right Republicans are cutting EPA funding and misleading Iowans about pollution by changing river classifications. That is wrong.

We must refund and rebuild the EPA, support science, and give farmers the resources to comply with environmental laws.

Far-right Republicans have decided yet again to take the side of billionaires and corporations. This means healthcare premiums will skyrocket starting January 26.

Will Dr. Miller-Meeks come to the table and not abandon hard-working Iowans? Last we checked, she's still on vacation.
