Honestly I'd love to make people mix CDs based entirely on the vibes I get from you. Swapping mix CDs was one of the ways people in my general online circles used to solidify friendships (so, early-mid '00s) back before LiveJournal became a Russian propaganda hellhole

If anyone (in the US only for now unless something magical happens) would like one on CD, lemme know! Tom got me a disc burner for this, and I made killer mix CDs when they were still a thing.

I know nobody is reporting right now because *gestures* but I have never heard of so many people out with covid than right now. Everywhere I go people are complaining about their staff being out with covid, or their friends or family. It's worse than the 2021 spike. And nobody's fricking masking!!

Also this pisses off a lot of cops in rural / agricultural areas because they know that worksite raids are destroying local businesses and farms they've always had an understanding with.

I have seen articles in local news sites from across the country where sheriffs / captains have been complaining about officers' inability to do their actual jobs because they are at the beck and call of whatever ICE is doing. I mean, ACAB and all, but still

While yes, I am seething at missing them, I did have many chances to already.

My rage is that thanks to LiveNation's CEO's opinion that expensive tickets are a "badge of honor," the performing arts are becoming accessible only to the wealthy. A status symbol. That is the definition of obscene.

Just sitting here, smiling at nobody, barely containing my rage that LiveNation's ~dynamic pricing system~ has priced me out of Rush's (well, Geddy + Alex + others) first show in a decade, and nearly 6 years since Neil died. Would have been my 15th time seeing them. Floor seats running $2k-$5k.

I have been working on these mixes, and the number of mixes keeps expanding into sub-vibes like "angry metal" and "happy metal" and "folk metal you didn't know was a thing because it's not European" and "the average japanese bass player makes Geddy Lee look lazy"

Every convo is angry. I've gotten him to talk briefly about music; he doesn't know what year it is but his pitch memory is flawless.

I got him an easy-to-use boombox, decent headphones, and a few of his fav CDs. Putting together some vibe-based mixes of newer stuff I think he might like.

I was able to call him again. He wasn't acting mean (to me) but he was PISSED. Still denies his right side doesn't work (common), but he was bellowing about how he's not getting PT so he can't leave. Even though that was contradictory and he's confused, he was legitimately advocating for himself.

Man, my family's been in the US for 400 years and there are entire regions worth of states I won't travel to. I don't feel safe traveling in my own country, or elsewhere and then potentially getting snatched upon re-entry because I'm a little too olive-skinned. Trust your instincts.

I keep a copy of my passport card on me, and my spouse (blond and blue-eyed) keeps my full passport and certified copies of my birth certificate in a safe in case my card is confiscated.

I'm of Kalé Welsh descent (Welsh Roma) and I get harassed a lot now. It's a matter of when, not if.
