I totally agree 😊 Funny how 15 years passed between knitting the blanket then almost immediately felting it in the dryer and now having beautiful mittens 😊

I hung onto the felted blanket allllll these years because it was still so lovely 🥺 My MIL has become the queen of making felted mittens out of wool sweaters 😊 Nice that the blanket is now getting used, just in a different way 😊

Only photo is from the hospital 😕 I saved it all these years. Last Xmas my MIL made it into mitts for me ❤️🧶 #knitsky

My felted wool blanket from 2009 was sewn into mitts for me by my mother-in-law in 2024. I knit it while on bedrest while expecting my second child. It didn’t survive our sleep deprivation after he was born. It was felted in the dryer. The only photographic proof of its existence is from the hospital right after he was born 🙃

Had a wonderful 2 days of learning at the PEI Fibre Fest in Charlottetown. Thoroughly enjoyed the marketplace and picked up special items to add to my tools and stash. Learned about how to work better with hand painted yarn, took an intro to intarsia, and learned to make Dorset buttons. #knitsky 🧶

A good friend of mine, Laura, was vending at the market 😊 She creates her own ‘art batts’, handspun yarn, stitch markers, has great yarny merch (tees and sweatshirts), and more. Her business is called Louis and Jane.

Here we are modeling the vests we knit 😊 Mine is the Sea Faerdy vest.

Another friend was also vending her amazing handspun yarn and beautiful batts. This is her bubble yarn and it is so joyful! Her name is Sue Smith and her business is Paisley Defender.

These are the three Dorset buttons that I learned to make during one of my classes. We started with the dark blue one (wool), then the light blue (#5 cotton thread), and then the fun one with the sheep (yes, that’s a sheep 🙃).

Excited to attend our local fibre festival this week! Have 3 interesting classes and a great festival marketplace to enjoy. Cast on my 2nd Musselburgh hat to have a portable knit to take with me. Still need to knit the button bands on my cardigan, and am working on a cable knit for my son 🧶

My Melby Yoke cardigan is almost done! Just need to knit the button bands and add buttons. Pattern is by Gudrun Johnston and yarn is Jamieson’s Spindrift. I’ve cut the steek, so I’m ready to get started as soon as I carve out some time.

I cast on my second ever Musselburgh hat in order to have a portable knit to take with me to out local fibre festival. The yarn is a lovely self striping yarn from Mud Punch in a colourway with the best name: ‘Dagmar goes to Shetland’. I love its greens, peach, red and burgundy.

Almost done knitting the first sleeve on the Menton 2 pullover for my son. I don’t knit cables as much anymore and had forgotten how long they take 🙃 At least I’ve learned to knit without a cable knit. That’s saving me tons of time!
