Any light you can throw on this gratefully received. Foveran seems to be the nearest location with a confirmed war memorial ... does Newburgh have a memorial at all?

Heathrow seems to be having its instrument landing system calibrated again tonight.

It's a mostly bollocks proposition; there was a large spike in 2022, but that's a long time ago.

Fertiliser prices chart, 2010 to Feb 2024. Large spike in 2022, but prices in 2024 were around the same as in 2012; and maybe 50% higher than the lowest historic price around 2017-8

In partial answer to your question, part legacy of T. Dan Smith and Wilfred Burns, part very poor handling of east-west & west-east traffic above the Tyne, and part poor handling of Gateshead Newcastle traffic around the city centre.

The most fun part is here where traffic coming in from Jesmond wants to move right to get onto the central motorway, at exactly the point that central motorway traffic wants to move left to get off onto the New Bridge Street exit, all at 50+ mph. Much hilarity and occasional death ensues.

Hi Sally. When Weiss published a supposed expose on the death of George Floyd, a veteran criminal justice reporter showed in deep detail that the piece was not just wrong but filled with falsehoods and misrepresentations. Weiss did not retract the piece. What do you think of that?

Come on man. By June 2024 Israel was at least 37,000 dead into the genocide, Bibi's government was being lambasted by his own people for using hostages as a tool rather than trying to retrieve them. Israel's mendacity long predates 7 October 2023. At no recent point was it sensible to believe them.

What is the evidence that growth is needed to maintain the status quo ante? Is not the problem one of resource allocation - that the UK pursues a low tax burden so as to enrich the 1% and the 10%?

Tax burdens in the UK, G7 and EU14 since 1965; in short, UK rate mainly flat (if spikey) which G7 and EU14 has been increasing.
