I can relate so much 😭 I love rushing to render as soon as I can so I can quickly realize what I'm working on, but it's better to make sure you have a good foundation before investing a lot of time rendering something! It's something I'm still teaching myself 😝

I’m a general pixel artist, but I've been focused on character art lately!

A list of my 6-mon team. The list is as follows : Bulbasaur, Applin (Shiny), Noibat (Shiny), Solosis, Phantump, Unhatched Egg. My OC (Sam) is standing in the middle with a confident pose, while holding a duskball pokeball. On my left shoulder is a Shiny Applin. Flying by the left of my OC is a Shiny Noibat, with a happy expression. Below Noibat is a Solosis, directly staring at me. Below Solosis, by the lower left of my OC is Phantump, looking curiously toward a sapling. By the bottom right of my OC is Bulbasaur, looking playful, with one foot lifted above the ground. Bulbasaur also has their vines wrapped around an Unhatched Pokemon Egg. The egg has some sparkles around it, suggesting a Shiny Pokemon is inside it. The shadows below my OC and the Pokemon suggests that the ground that we're currently on is a field of grass.

I guess the whole point of 1bit -> render workflow is to make all the adjustments / fixing while it's still in 1bit. Making adjustments to parts of your drawing when it's already rendered is difficult 😭 and could very well result in something that doesn't look quite right.

I was working on a process video and noticed some inefficiencies. I often change my mind with how I want the character to look while I'm already rendering / already done rendering them. I'm happy with the result, but I imagine it's not a good habit to pick up as a beginner.

Made in the new Quarter Char HiRes (QCH) mode for the C64.

QCH works like HiRes, but in 4x4 pieces, and taking into account the FLI bug.

Blender UI can be overwhelming, yes 😭 setting up nodes makes me wanna cry especially. It’s worth learning though if you eventually want to try messing with complex materials!
