I have met Gareth Martin, and Kemi Adegoke (now Badenoch) both in Dulwich, one as a neighbour, one as someone wanting my vote, and Gareth is an honourable man, and runs a long standing and well respected business.

That is appalling, I saw an edition go out back in the 80s when my late dad had editorial control of WS science unit - although he was CAWS, it was a brilliant programme, and properly Reithian. Yet another death by 1000 cuts.

When I had earache, I was given nice chewable orange baby asprin. And there was a proven scientific reason why they banned aspirin for youngsters. That is a distinct distance.

They were quite nice, I can still feel the taste and texture.

I can appreciate that, my watch should be synced to phone, plus I am currently in Beaune, was saying 6:50 this morning so I reckoned 5:50 at home so could listen to ships and news, but no, Unspun World with @johnsimpsonnews.bsky.social so was Sounds playing up, turns out phone said 5:50, so uk 4:30

Well my go to listening at that age was something called Radio 4,afternoon theatre,the archers,loads of documentaries,travel, science,medicine,informed chat,arts,Analysis,news,panel shows [NOT quote unquote], scifi, The Financial World Tonight, Gale Warnings, SOS messages.Not quite the same now-but!

I love lego, boxes saved for increasingly unlikely children (and by now unfair to have the.) but from the days you could get a box in £sd and they were bricks and windows.

It is strange, people used to use timesharing computer systems, but then decided their own systems were cheaper and often more reliable. And we have gone through a circle, I wonder if it will keep going.. Although all the extra security you need now you aren't just on dialup,Kilostream or Megastream

Which made me think, if Parky can do his chat show from beyond the grave, could someone put the extant corpus of Letter from America into something and give it the current news from the US and see what happens?
