Trans authors should not be beholden to the concept of writing books that feel relatable or real to any particular subset of their audience. I believe this harder the more people are weird about trans fiction.

it's very bad that we've set up our society in such a ways that doing important and essential work is seen as an undesirable stepping stone to doing vapid and inconsequential work, and even if we treat workers equitably this is a mindset that needs to be challenged and overthrown.

most people exaggerate their worst tendencies online. if you find someone in your social circles annoying online you should block them but then also make an effort to get to know them in person as a real human being. the converse to this is that you should probably try to be less annoying online.
