My most anticipated book of 2025 is finally on my nightstand. I’ve read it digitally once already, and I’m absolutely about to go at it again armed with post-it flags. @duttonbooks.bsky.social , you rock, thank you 😊
The cover of the book shown sitting on a nightstand reads: “Author of ‘Hiroshima’ M.G. Sheftall- NAGASAKI - The Last Witnesses.”

I finished putting together my thoughts about #TheGodsofNewYork this week, and long story short: I really liked it! If you’re into urban development, the civil rights movement, or if you’re someone like me who remembers when NYers hated Trump first, I definitely recommend it :) #NetGalley #BookSky

Diving into the muck of NYC is one of my favorite things. It’s gonna be a good week. #TheGodsOfNewYork #NetGalley #kindle #BookSky

I’m not really comfortable with “rating” books (1-5, ⭐️ s, whatever scale), and instead I typically write up my thoughts and end the post with a line about “Who will enjoy this book?” / “Who would I recommend this to?” instead. Writers / BookSky, what do you think of this approach?

I just finished reading “Convenience Store Woman” by Sayaka Murata and, uh … as a thirtysomething, autistic as hell woman who works in a convenience store, I’m not quite sure if I feel seen & affirmed or attacked 🥸 #booksky

Gonna try to finish Angela Merkel’s “Freedom” this week. After that, Sheftall’s “Nagasaki” if I’m lucky re: NetGalley, Chernow’s new “Mark Twain” if I’m not 😅

I only read one book to completion in February. I think I *might* manage 2 in March - I’ve got a good deal of time on the train coming up soon 😂 Reminder to myself and to you, too, that quantity is totally, completely unimportant! Just enjoy the ride! 📚 💕

Retroactively, my first read of 2025 - “Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Live,” by Susan Morrison

So, I purposefully choose not to rate on a number scale, because I think that it’s too subjective. Instead, I end every review by answering the question, Who will enjoy this book? My full review will be posted a little closer to the publication date, but I mostly enjoyed it! Very nostalgic 🥰

Finished book number 2 for the year: “Good Game, No Rematch” by Mike Drucker!
