Faculty standing up for students. Students standing up for faculty. Standing together to hold a university administration accountable to its community. This is the power of organizing. This is teaching and learning in community. #academicsky #edusky comradefranson.substack.com/p/students-m...

United Faculty of ISU members voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike, and our union officially filed the required Intent to Strike notice with the IL Educational Labor Relations Board. With the legally required 10-day notice filed, members may go on strike as early as April 4. www.ufisu-upi.org

I refuse to vote for Republicans’ slush fund bill that grants Trump and Elon Musk permission to continue rigging our government and our economy against the middle class.

It would greenlight even more chaos and more cuts to critical programs.

Hell no, I cannot support that.

I conclude by considering how these influences work to administer whiteness in the name of literacy.
the findings highlight the ways white teachers responded to networks of surveillance, the salience of whiteness in these responses, and how literacy teaching was then shaped through the polic(y)ing of literacy and literacy teaching as something to be administered.
In this article, I examine the influences of high stakes testing, education policy, surveillance, and whiteness on literacy teaching. Informed by Foucault’s disciplinary power, critical race theory in education, and critical whiteness studies,
