Feeling down about the far right demo on Saturday? Here are five things you can do to help turn things around: 🧡

(Part 1 of 4)

1️⃣ Join #StandUpToRacism – be part of the national movement taking on the far right and racism. We need anti-fascist organisers in every town and city.
✊🏿✊🏻Let’s come together as SISTERS (not just CISters), warriors & survivors.

πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ Transwomen are women & non-binary people are valid πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

We leave no-one behind. We stand in solidarity with all women.

‼️ March for the end of gender-based, sexual and racially motivated violence.
πŸ’” Violence towards women, girls & gender diverse people takes many forms. We are targeted for our race, our religion, the clothes we wear, our gender, our sexuality, our identity and for demanding equal rights and control over our own bodies.

πŸ‘‘ Together we rise! πŸ‘‘
🀍 Join us as we shine a light at the start of 16 days of activism for the Elimination of Violence against women and girls. 🀍
Please ask your friends, family and neighbours to go along. The far right has so far failed to get a toehold in Wolverhampton. We would like to keep it that way!

Solidarity with all the sisters in Oldbury and the entire community who gathered tonight in a vigil... www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crim...
We seek to mobilise to oppose Trump and the misogyny he represents and to protect and further the rights of women and girls in the UK and worldwide.
The UK government's willingness to platform, welcome and praise Trump emboldens others who speak about and treat women and minorities in a hateful way and who seek to curtail our rights.
Trump and his government's misogyny has seen full expression in the rolling back of legal rights of women in the US, including abortion rights and the rights of LGBTQ+ & trans women, which not only endanger our sisters in the US, but also embolden reactionary & misogynistic organisations in the UK.
Trump has a long history of sexual assault and intimidation, and consistently uses aggressively misogynistic language - dehumanising women by reducing them to their physical appearance and trivialising their accomplishments.
The UK government's decision to welcome Donald Trump to the UK for a second presidential visit, where he is likely to be feted by Starmer's government, further normalises the extreme misogyny Trump represents.

STATEMENT - Trump Not Welcome 🧡
✊️ Together we can stand with all survivors and victims of abuse, unite against the far right and challenge the racist lies and scapegoating.

The far right is using women's safety as a weapon to spread racism and division. They are not defenders of women - they exploit violence against women and children to push hate…

There can be no climate justice without racial justice. We will not stand by as politicians and the far right vilify refugees and migrants. We remain, as always, united against racism and oppression. Division and hatred will not win. ✊✊🏽✊🏿 @standuptoracismuk.bsky.social

This past weekend we joined #StandUpToRacism, trade unions, faith groups, migrant justice organisations and thousands of others in a march against the far right, showing that hate is not welcome in London, or anywhere else.
A massive thank you to everyone who stood against racism, fascism, and many other forms of discrimination last Saturday. βœŠπŸ—£οΈ
