On one hand, hell yes, getting paid to not have to interact with that monster sounds pretty damned great.

On the other, the world could probably have used a great video of your insightful self giving her what for in a public debate, if you had ended up taking on that stress for the public good.

I thought I'd compile the basic content of your post, and the various additions in this thread, together into a graphic for convenient future use, and I'd like to welcome you to make use of it as much as you please.

The guy who lost the election isn't who you need to focus on. Holding the people who won the election to account is the vital requirement. So why are you constantly talking about the loser without mentioning that the winner's delivering the same policies?
sustainablesong.bsky.social
I'm not suggesting the CPC wouldn't do better with a different leader who lacks Poilievre's baggage & anti-charisma. They would.

But many said similar things about Trump.

Carney's actively giving voters something to despise & vote *against,* & progressives will never support him again.

If anything, it seems like the more information is presented, the more reflexively hostile the response.

Sadly, to me it just seems like standard issue "die hard LPC supporters have learned to behave just like their Maple MAGA counterparts ever more by the day" that's on display everywhere lately.

They play act that they defeated the conservatives, while instead they've become them.
sustainablesong.bsky.social
Waiting for the next election is too late. With enough public pushback on bad policies *now,* we *might* get the PM to do better, but waiting is too much like watching a house burn and assuming you can unburn the ashes later rather than grabbing the fire extinguisher at the first glimpse of flame.
sustainablesong.bsky.social
I also observe the sure fire guarantee of an unassailably flawless rational evidence-based argument: a seeming belief that simply yelling the occasional word in all caps will make presenting evidence to back your position up somehow magically unnecessary.

Good luck with that.
sustainablesong.bsky.social
Charming how you make baseless insulting assumptions about complete strangers with zero evidence of any kind, while pretending that a guy who just presented 30 pieces of relevant evidence that you apparently refuse to even acknowledge the existence of must surely be clueless while you act petulant.

The crypto market recently experienced a significant downturn, with estimates indicating that around $900 billion was wiped off its total value.
This decline was largely triggered by market reactions to new tariffs imposed by the U.S. on Chinese tech imports, leading to panic among traders.

Recent Crypto Market Decline
The cryptocurrency market has experienced a significant downturn, with estimates indicating that approximately $900 billion has been wiped off its total value. This decline is attributed to several factors, primarily triggered by geopolitical events and market dynamics.
Key Factors Behind the Decline
• Tariff Announcements: The U.S. government's announcement of a 100% tariff on Chinese tech imports has created panic among investors, leading to a sharp sell-off in the crypto market.
Liquidations: A massive wave of forced liquidations occurred, with over $19 billion in positions liquidated in just 24 hours. This was exacerbated by traders who had heavily leveraged their positions.
• Market Overvaluation: Many analysts believe that the crypto market was already overvalued, making a correction inevitable.
The rapid rise in prices over the summer set the stage for this significant drop.

And yet, all the major equity indices were already wildly overvalued, and a correction was always inevitable - it was just a question of when it would start.
There may well be a rough few days ahead for investors. An estimated $400 billion was wiped off the value of the main crypto currencies on Friday evening, while the Nasdaq dropped by more than 800 points, or 3.5 per cent, before the

Poilievre increased CPC vote share in 2025, & was only kept from the PMO by progressives who temporarily supported Carney instead of voting NDP or green in accordance with their values based on false promises he'd be better.

Carney's publicly betraying their values, ensuring they won't do so again.

When someone knows they can't contest the evidence, they make insulting ad hominem attacks on the speaker.

It's how we know they cannot present evidence that disproves what has already been said, so they want to lack-of-virtue signal by being derisive to the person presenting that evidence.

So does deliberately worsening the greatest existential danger to our basic survival needs that our entire species has ever faced count enough as bad policy for your needs, @gracealexander.bsky.social, or do we need to go on?

I can do this all day if need be, but we've covered some vital basics.

And by the way, just to underline the point, doubling down on oil expansion isn't just a great way to collapse our economy, and public health, and national security. It's also a great way to collapse our food supply. 31/

The insurance industry, whose business model is dependent on accurate risk assessment, calls the climate "the mother of all risks." Every professional medical organization in Canada calls it our top health threat.

But Carney's into arson, so suck it, public health. 29/

The token gestures to climate action Carney offers to try to justify big oil expansion - as if arsenic in your supper will somehow be fine as long as there's some healthy veggies in there, too - are both the most expensive and simultaneously the least effective. 27/
