It has been a rollercoaster but I wouldn't go back!

What a different life I have now - there's no stability or fancy pension, the pay isn't great & I work long hours, but I have a much happier & fulfilled life being a shop owner, silversmith & trying to write a novel!

Here's to the next 11! ☀️

Yesterday marked 11 years since I left my career in Civil Service Project Management after 21 years!

I cried as I cycled away from the office, wondering if I'd made a terrible mistake leaving a secure, well paid, flexible job with a good pension 😰.

But what an 11 years it has been!

We were excited to unpack a big box from @prismofstarlings recently, especially as it had brand new gifts inside!

Our card loyalty cards have been getting a lot of use recently!

I emptied this batch from the till yesterday and there were 55!

Question! Should we stock these herb strippers?

I asked the lovely Old Rossland Pottery to make one especially for me & this was their prototype!

I absolutely love it & used it for coriander & parsley in last night's dish (cod with chickpeas & chermoula - see the end of the clip).

Morning!

I've been asked a few times recently for brooches so when I was at my bench this week I had fun making these 2 sterling silver brooch pins.

The 'spiral roots' can be worn with the spiral hanging free, allowing movement, or with the pin overlapping and fixing it in a static position.

I've been off for a few days celebrating mine and my dad's birthdays!

We've had a great time eating well and being tourists around the Central Belt 😄!
