I use both plus like 6 other programs and I like to mix and match. I put them in photoshop and Frankenstein them together like a monster. Universe has some good stuff that looks really authentic as well, but you can't just leave it on the base setting! And they always do, every time.

Me after manipulating my art whenever I watch a modern movie with friends that uses a VHS filter: "That was made in DaVinci and/or After Effects using the Maxon Universe add on with the base setting. They didn't even adjust the sliders."
