Sorry I was (poorly) multitasking

Looking forward to the sustained economic growth coming from accelerating bonus payouts to senior bankers* and tax increases for pretty much everyone else 😂

*those were restricted for good reasons after 2008 (though I’m happy to argue over timelines etc)

In this environment? You gotta film yourself of course and make some cash

Oh I’m jealous. That’s a lot of work but it’ll be so worth it. Get ready to walk around in the newd 24/7

They’re quickly running out of money (again)

If what was reported is true, it’ll cause a bit of havoc in certain areas of the country. Especially the council tax changes.

The market is so bad and the uncertainty of what’s coming in the November budget isn’t helping either.

Yes, which is why this scares me. Cause if the value drops this much I’m not only trapped but might have issues with the mortgage.

FWP but one of the houses on my street won’t sell. The owners dropped the price so much that it’ll cause issues for everyone else on the road wanting to sell in the next few years or having to remortgage soon. I’m slightly panicking inside.

I ordered 1kg of carrots for 55p but this has been substituted with 0.45kg costing 36p. I see how it is Tesco. Very clever business model.

This is why you need a good comms strategy. Every (reasonable) company has short and mid term goals feeding into their long term objectives. And they all come with ‘deliverables’. If the gov took a similar approach in their comms, they might have more luck.

And this is why they’re having such a hard time with everyone at the moment. Because they overpromised. Other governments overpromised before but people are generally fed up, impatient, and emotionally charged. So it’s much harder for Labour now.
stillantspants.bsky.social
I’m with you. Your point in a way proves my point - things don’t happen quickly but this is what Labour somewhat promised before the election. Cheaper prices, better service, starting tomorrow. Not just for the railways, but across the board.
stillantspants.bsky.social
A keen eye would say though that this is what Labour promised pre-election which is probably why they’re having such a hard time atm

End of 2026 at the earliest. So basically 2027, more likely 2028 😂 and then once that is running, it’ll take some time to get things done, like branding, ticketing etc. we might see it before 2030.

Their train allocations also don’t make sense. At London Bridge, you see long and half empty trains going to some places while every single train on other lines is so rammed you can barely get on.
stillantspants.bsky.social
GBR doesn’t even exist yet and won’t for quite a while 😂

The only thing Southeastern has going for it are the comparatively cheap tickets on most of their routes. The rest is pretty abysmal.
stillantspants.bsky.social
The graph is misleading because it doesn’t take into account all the other factors contributing to declining and rising passenger numbers. But I accept that privatisation wasn’t 100% bad.
stillantspants.bsky.social
But that’s many years away. Personally I wouldn’t wait that long if I was in government. (Personally I also couldn’t care less about branding as long as the trains actually showed up on time)
