We’ve loved learning about WW2 this term! Today we started exploring the planes of the war and even tried making some of our own. The wind was fighting against us during testing, which led to a great discussion about how the more powerful German engines made such an impact during WW2. ✈️🌬️

We loved using it and said it was a fun way to give feedback. We looked at all the responses as a class and agreed our punctuation could be improved. 🎯✨

We used the website Frankenstories for the first time to improve our sentence writing by focusing on accurate punctuation, strong vocabulary, and using similes and alliteration. We wrote and voted anonymously, and we can’t wait to use this tool to support our modeled and shared writing next term!✏️

Today was National Poetry Day. Room 15 wrote some acrostic poems about “Play”. We spoke about alliteration, similes, metaphors, rhyming patterns, emotion words and more! Phenomenal work ✨⭐️✨ Poets and they know it! #nationalpoetryday

R15 have had a fabulous time this week exploring shapes in real life. We planned first on our @connectedfalk.bsky.social devices using an app from “App Portal” & this website www.engineering.com/games/bridge... We tested our structures and adapted them. Triangles are so strong! 🔺

As part of our WW2 topic we learned about The Battle of Dunkirk and how it raised morale. Today we learned about propaganda and we made our own posters!

Room 16 have been exploring the use of 2D and 3D shapes in the real world. We have studied various well known buildings, structures and landmarks and realised they all had one shape in common…TRIANGLES! But why!? Take a look at the results of our investigation…

Lots of interesting discussions about how our world was created. The young people were really engaged and asked mature and sensible questions. 🌍

We were vehicle designers today. We had to use budgeting and some of us were so good we had money left over, some of us went over budget and had to adapt our plans. We then used the ‘notes’ app to build our cars screenshotting the different parts and adding them together! #mathweekscot

We took part in #mathsweekscot Adobe live lesson and used the drawing tool to draw Inveraray Castle. We also explored the rotational symmetry tools and will use these later in the year! 🌟
