Trap on tonight might pull it back in
It was a belter Dave, not even on my radar.
My only Tissue, much bigger than expected, hiding almost under the trap...
Ooh that's not a good phrase to use 'it really couldn't have been anything else'...but what if it was something else?
You need more positives...👍

The Bird Gods smiled on us today. Delighted to find Barra's first Blackpoll Warbler at Bruernish late morning. #BirdingScotland #RareBirdsUK
Our lovely Peggy came from @dogstrust.bsky.social when she was 4. Now 12, she runs our household.. 😊

Had to move fast on a text from @swannerysteve.bsky.social this afternoon, although he'd confirmed it by the time I was mobile it was a real joy to see this Baikal Teal at work on day two of my October holiday!

Wonderful self-found suprise today in the form of this wryneck, at Chambers Wall, Reculver. Fair few birds around, but had to scoot for a 10am meeting. #kentbirding #selffoundbirding.

Operation Needletail turned into Needletail success after only 15 minutes in the field! Plucked on Helmsdale as a likely location and at 0740 the White-throated Needletail was spotted by @emilyrichens.bsky.social and spent 9-mins with us before heading south! BOOM #BirdingScotland

Needletail sketchbook pages. I made the decision to draw up afterwards as I just wanted to watch the bird. I also struggled to climb the castle paths😞 #UKbirding #birds #birding #birdart #sciart #art
Sketches of a White throated Needletail, a species of large swift. They are in graphite and watercolour. The swift is large bodied with scythe shaped wings and a small stubby square tail. The body is brown with a pale throat, large white horseshoe shape under the tail area. The upper parts have a white patch on the back. The wings are black with areas of blue green iridescence. The bird even looks fast! Sketches of a White throated Needletail, a species of large swift. They are in graphite and watercolour. Incredible skies to top off my most incredible birding moment ever- finding a (the) White-throated Needletail from Brora!! 🤯 The stuff of absolute dreams, I’ve just about stopped shaking 😂

Wow. Last time I was at Brora we found a drunk man unconscious in the road with a broken nose!

Where are you now?
Todays star bird at Scarbrough. Thanks to @fosterian1971 for driving.
Oh, you'll enjoy it, it's a good county for birding...
First light dog walk had a small arrival of 12+ Fieldfares, my first of the autumn, 15+ Redwings and a Brambling in our village.
#Lowcarbonbirding #Northumberland
Another, fresher, Pearly Underwing was good but rarer still was only my 3rd record of Streak. #Northumberland #Teammoth
I live a dog walk from Cullernose Matthew. Funny, those three sites you name have been local patches of mine at one time or another...
Great write up Jono. All of the Northumberland coast was monitored today with no sign.
I wonder where it is now...
Keep this quiet, but most east coast seawatchers can't id a Black throated let alone Pacific!😆
