I have seen a lot of people looking at glass. Unfortunately they are mostly the Raw Milk idiots. There is a whole discussion on using aluminum or steel containers for milk. I can't think of a faster way to kill a lot of people. Metal leaches into milk because milk carries a lot of bacteria
The big problem with glass is that it breaks and with milk in glass, it was easy to tamper with the milk

After the Tylenol murders in 1982 people demanded that products be tamper resistant

With big box stores, it's easy to tamper with food and there are monsters that think that it's fun to do it
And centralized processing and packaging

All of which reduce the cost of food relative to income

Sure a loaf of bread was 10 cents, but your hourly wage was $1.25

People were happy not to pay the cost of meat from a butcher vs meat from a big store
But, food actually cost a higher portion of you earnings than it does now. Because plastic is inexpensive, durable enough for transport and a lot lighter than glass

When the butcher cut your meat and wrapped it in paper, that was a huge added cost

Our cheap food is because of big box stores
We could go back to glass bottles and have labels only on the caps

If you look at old glass bottle, they had the dairy name moulded into the glass and the paper cap told you the product

Old coke and beer bottles were the same, except for the metal cap

Meat and produce were wrapped in paper
A lot of stuff that could be recycled is contaminated with labels that aren't easily removable.

Unless you are willing to treat recycling as a cost, you have to realize that recycling is a low margin business and labels eliminate any possible profit
When "recycling" is exporting your pollution, you increase world wide pollution because the "profitable" way to "recycle" is to dump the pollution into the ocean

We have to recycle our own waste. That way we control the emissions from processing it

We have to minimize labelling
And it has to be on a world wide basis. We already see the economic inequity where one nation tries to reduce pollution while another nation maximizes economic gain with uncontrolled pollution

We've also seen what happens when a nation exports it's pollution
11. What people don't want to admit is that the only path to no pollution is no building stuff, no processing anything, no travel

They don't want to admit it because there can't be civilization and no pollution

What people need to admit is that the environment has to be managed
At this point only a Traitor to Canada would buy the F35 from the USA

The F35 program needs to be cancelled along with any US military presence in Canada

Trump's America is an enemy of Canada
10. There is a lot of Job Deletion going on under the Trump Administration and not much Job Creation

Since Billionaires don't pay their fair share of Income Taxes, the US Government is not going to get the amount of Income Taxes that has been forecast. Unemployed people can't pay Income Taxes
9. There are over 2 million civilians that work for the US Federal Government. That number doesn't include The Post Office, The Military or the Agencies (FBI, CIA, NSA, etc.)

What happens when a substantial portion of them are added to other unemployed?

It will be only another generation before children ask "what was a steelworker?" "Mom, what is a farmer? I thought that we got all of our food from Agrobots"
7. The shipyards have all been converted to condos and townhouses on ocean front property

Steel Mills sit unused waiting to be converted into condos

US Naval Bases world wide are being closed. The reduction in size of the Navy makes the bases unneeded

All of those jobs are gone
6. The USA and Canada have made it impossible to have heavy industry

Canada cannot even build ferries and has to import them. The USA doesn't build the replacement warships that the US Navy needs. In fact, the USA doesn't have the shipyards to perform essential maintenance on their aging fleet
5. Especially when other nations don't have the environmental restrictions that you have

This is why China has so much of the metals market world wide

www.abc.net.au/news/2025-10...
4. This is why Alberta has a boom or bust economy. No form of environmental remediation is enough for the environmentalists when extracting or processing oil, metals and other products from the Earth. World prices have to be extremely high to make it worthwhile and that doesn't happen often
3. Mark Carney is finding out that Environmental Regulation is expensive for the companies that extract oil, metals and other products from the Earth. Especially when there are tariffs and restrictions that make that extraction unprofitable

The jobs created in extraction and processing are gone
1. Mark Carney has found that trying to run a country and telling people what they have to do are 2 very different things

Especially when the nation that Canada does 86% of it's trade with decides to slap tariffs and restrictions on that trade

Do you sell Oil to China at the going World Price?
Trump has added 2 Trillion to the US National Debt in 10 months. Where did it all go? It didn't go into Health Care, It didn't go into SNAP, It didn't go into SSDI, It didn't go into SSI

So who's offshore bank account has it gone into?
Doge was the real Ponzi Scheme....
