Sonic’s story is literally about a mad villain turning creatures into slave robots against their will, and fighting back against that plight by using speed, wit, sarcasm, teamwork, and magical objects to free those creatures against overwhelming odds.

This Sonic is authentic as fuck.

If your goal was to outdo Ri Chun-hee in your enthusiastic delivery of propaganda, you've certainly succeeded.
That's wise. I left Florida years ago, with no regrets beyond missing the beach.
I grew up super religious, now a secular Buddhist. I always tell people, the one thing that religion does very well is organize communal spaces and shared identity. I think that's why religion is so sticky in the first place, in spite of its many harms. Secular community still struggles with this.
Be safe down there. I was born and raised right down the road from you (Pensacola), and we both know the panhandle is a very special kind of crazy.
All of these are great, but if I may be so bold:
In no way do I think either of these guys have a real spine, but this one letter has big criticism-under-duress energy.
Trump should try reading the rest of the beatitudes that he skipped to pick that one.

Nearly 8% of the people on our planet are farmers who produce more than a third of the world’s food on small plots of land...just an acre or two each. These farmers want to work, produce, feed their families, sell what’s left, and stay on their farms (cont.)

And, as an #exvangelical, I maintain that most people in the U.S. that have never been in that world have *no idea* how much the corruption of extremist nationalism has infiltrated so-called "Christian" thought. So if you use the generic term Christian, without specifying "what kind"...it's useless.
With apologies to C.S. Lewis fans, "Christian", as a term by itself, is mostly meaningless at this point. A Christian living in, say, Cologne, Germany that attends their local Catholic church for holidays would be utterly horrified by the beliefs of a staunch Southern Baptist Christian in Florida.
Shout to @heartbreak.one for calling me on my shit.
If you need an antidote to your doom scrolling, like I do on the daily, this is pretty damn great: www.lionsroar.com/ubuntu-i-am-...

Also, I now have both a deeper appreciation for the name of the #Linux distro, as well as a deeper frustration that it reduces a rich word down to a piece of tech.

The VA has no business being the regime's propaganda arm in their emails. This shit is an embarrassment, in a long line of catastrophically embarrassing shit.

“We at Disney sometimes try on the politics of the moment if we think it will make us money. We kinda liked these new politics tbh, but…weirdly…it lost us a lot of money, so we’re gonna backtrack to a palatable position that will restore our stock price and income so definitely subscribe kthxbye.”
#Exvangelical here. There is a nightmarish slew of wild beliefs that E's propagate that are hard to fathom unless you've been one of them. See also:
- young earth creationism
- dominionism
- Calvinism (not all E's believe this, but that *any* of them do is horrifying)
- Biblical inerrancy
In another life, I did command and control for this same mission set in SOUTHCOM. We had a strict set of rules of engagement (ROE) for suspected drug trafficking vessels/aircraft. There was good reason we didn't just start "taking them out" when they were suspect:

I think there's just a lot of people out there for whom analogy and allegory are just not part of how their brain works. Like, it's just straight up short circuiting if the meaning of the thing isn't "on the nose."
And I freely admit, it very well could just be the escapist fantasy of being able to design and govern in the way that I wish we could see in the real world.
