I can't, it's screenshot from the wix "loading" interface, on the right they push examples that move all around. Meh
stephaniewalter.bsky.social
Those examples appear now while their new studio loads (which takes forever also). Just looking at their example of scrolling animation made me nauseous. I have prefers-reduced motion switched off, but, I still get the very annoying example. Meh.

Wix going all "use text marquee to add scrolling effect to content you want to highlight", how about, no? This is an accessibility nightmare, there's a reason the HTML marquee tag was removed.
Also, scroll animations, again, please no. Or at least, respect prefers-reduced motion.

Today's beautiful procrastination is Messenger, a cute cozy multi players game in the browser where you deliver letters

messenger.abeto.co/
A 3D pastel stylized game scene, focused on a character with a ponytail, a messenger bag and yellow shirt standing on a dock, with a boat in the background. She's talking to a NPC, with some text on top of him. The text reads: Package received. Take the mystery letter to Dave at Smelly Falls.

Haaa the gold w3c little tag, yeah. I honestly miss those. Let's bring them back!!

(this is why all my stickers have cut animals, no hands required, hehe)

Yeah, I like the idea of having it augment your art, or deal with the parts you don't like.
I'm annoyed, because the part I don't like, is drawing hands. And AI is notoriously bad at it, haha, no help for me.
stephaniewalter.bsky.social
The Oatmeal's view on AI art is quite interesting. It brings some mediocrity to the world, but also, it can help artists with tasks they find administrative. In the end, it will never have a heart. And that's what makes a difference.

Cartoon illustration with two text boxes. The first says: In my experience, the people who are excited about AI art also happen to be some of the most talentless fucking people I’ve ever met. Below, smaller text reads: They’re middle managers, executives, or marketers whose LinkedIn bio reads, followed by another black box with stylized text: I’m the Chief Brand Officer of User Engagement at DataRectal, but what I really am is a storyteller.

It didn't, at least not to me.

"Oui oui baguette" should be the one by default, it show a French je ne sais quoi, with the non-chalance of people who might not have a prime minister, again, maybe, maybe not, haha.

For me, writing the prompt would already be, maybe, a good exercise, into "okay, what exactly do I want to describe, what's the purpose of this image, why did I choose it". So, the prompting itself might be a very good exercise to force yourself into thinking about image choices and alt texts.
stephaniewalter.bsky.social
same answer as here, maybe it's faster if you are native speaker, but, not if you search for words: bsky.app/profile/step...
also, might be helpful for dyslexic people as well (I'm not, so this is a wild guess, if anyone from the dyslexic community wants to pitch in)

i would say it might depend on your skill language. For example, I'm not a native speaker, so I might take a lot of time to find the right vocabulary to describe a building, or something complex in a domain I don't master. Maybe the LLM could give me a starting point to make it faster for me?

. @jaredcunha.bsky.social explains that LLMs can lower the burden of writing useful alt text for images, with the right prompting: state you want an alt text, give context, tell what to emphasize, the length. I’m curious if anyone has experience with this, and how it went? Was the alt text any good?

Friday fun: a little reminder that, 15 years ago, before we had AI generation, people were creating wacky nightmarish fun 3D rending videos of cows becoming spiders, and this belongs in a museum.
Have a nice day 😁

(Also trigger warning: spiders)

And if you don’t use Figma, I’ve added links to web-based tools so you can follow along too.

What to expect:
- Six accessible yellow and purple palettes, ready to use
- Step-by-step guide to building palettes in Figma
- A 19 minutes video tutorial to make my whole process easy to follow

I built six WCAG-tested palettes to show that accessibility doesn’t limit creativity. And I turned the process into a full tutorial (with video) so you can learn how to build your own accessible color palettes in Figma.

Let’s debunk the old myth that “accessibility limits color choices.” What limits your choices is a lack of knowledge, and / or creativity. I can't do anything about creativity, but, I can help you with accessibility knowledge.

Does your work overlap with your passion?
Working in enterprise UX, I never really know how to answer that. Am I passionate about car dealerships, cranes on construction sites, custom forms, finance and banking? Nope.
But I am passionate about solving complex problems. So, it kind of does?
