Another day, another attack on nature.

The government’s latest Planning and Infrastructure Bill amendments are bad news for newts, toads — and for all of us. The economy is s subset of the environment.

Climate solutions that aren't realistic, will definitely harm people.

They could make it matchbox size, and it would still be empty.

I agree, completely.

It does very much look to me as if those complicit in genocide and serious war crimes, are just putting on a bit of a PR stunt, with little substance, as a distraction from their culpability in facilitating some of the worst war crimes we've seen in modern times.

The most immediate task, is emergency relief for Palestinian civilians.

Overall, I think this supposed peace is being grossly overhyped.

I'm not being cynical, but the critical issue I see here is the lack of genuine good will from the Netanyahu government, for a just and lasting peace.

The Trump regime will clearly impede any investigation into what happened. There's no regard for the rule of law with the Trump regime. Trump was demanding the Israeli president pardon Netanyahu of the corruption case he faces.

On the face of it, there seems the very real possibility that this is just a PR stunt for Trump, and soon it will be back to Israeli colonization as usual.

What we saw was the collective punishment of civilians, a grave war crime.

The further issue, is there's just been a horrendous mass slaughter of Palestinian civilians. Tens of thousands of Palestinian children killed. Perhaps hundreds of thousands of dead buried beneath the rubble.

Israel has more or less breached every ceasefire, and UN resolution there's ever been.

There seems little guarantee of lasting peace. People in Netanyahu's cabinet, who believe in the Greater Israel project, and who seem to want all Palestinians gone or exterminated, are still there.

I see little, real good will, and good intentions, from the Netanyahu government.

"Israelis and Palestinians celebrate as truce brings hope of ‘era of peace’"

What is the reality of this claim, the hype, and quite frankly propaganda, and gaslighting?

Both Netanyahu, and his defence minister, have threatened further military action.

Making it much less worse outcomes.

Err, it's the other way around.

Exactly, relentless pressure. Be ruthless.

Keep it up Zack. Fight fire with fire. This has been my main criticism of progressives, that they don't fight the extreme right using the same tactics the right use, personal counter-attacks, against their smears.

What happens is you try logging on to websites like this, is that unless you switch your VPN off, you can't connect to them. This never used to happen, even just a few months ago. I switched to the mode that supposedly camouflages you are using a VPN, and it is now happening again.

All solutions that do not acknowledge the whole problem, are ineffective.

"We cannot solve the threats of human-induced climate change and loss of biodiversity in isolation. We either solve both or we solve neither."

What people mean by a solution to climate change, I mean the media, politicians etc, is a magical plan, that allows them to carry on with business as usual BaU, without the unpleasant effects. That is just delusional. It is the argument of the super rich, and neoliberals.

As I make clear. Greta Thunberg did have all the solutions in her early speeches. Total system change, and start treating the climate crisis as if it was an actual crisis and real. There is nothing she or anyone else can add to that. Plans are useless, if you are in denial about that.

Very stupid people, have said, but Greta never has any solutions. However, when asked why didn't she become a climate scientist, and find a solution to the climate, to the climate crisis, she answered that the solution was known well over 30 years ago.

More and more websites, including this one, are using software, that stops you connecting to them, even if you are using a VPN, in incognito mode, that is not supposed to be detectable. For years VPNs were sold to people as a privacy necessity.

If the Labour Party don't get rid of Starmer and his cronies immediately, he will totally destroy the Labour Party, and they will go the way of the Conservative Party. People are fed up with neoliberalism. They just don't realise yet, that Reform are ultra-neoliberals.
steb77.bsky.social
A funny aside, is that I keep hearing this mistaken narrative, that it was only when Greta discovered that capitalism was the problem, that the establishment cancelled her. No, Greta always knew that, and anyway, they cancelled her before her recent work.

Greta got all that right in the beginning. She had sound scientific advice from leading scientists, who fact checked what she wrote. All, if I don't mind saying, Greta joined up the dots a bit better than they did. No one is better than Greta at seeing the big picture.
