This year I am going to fall back in love with reading. Grad school beat my love of reading to a bloody pulp, and I'm resolving to heal it. I've already made a start on my TBR backlog!

Current read: Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THIS BOOK, I AM QUELLE STUPIDE.
Honestly I'd love that, I'm NC with mine.
Current read: Got slowed down again with health issues, but am feeling better and I devoured The Raven Scholar this week. Fantastic book, and I will wait VERY NOT PATIENTLY for the second one.
It has, for the most part, aged incredibly well, and remained far too uncomfortably relevant.
Dear NYC:

Please send this guy packing. Humiliate him beyond his worst nightmares. Single-digit percent of the vote, coming in third. Let's go.
Andrew Cuomo interview this morning on MSNBC and he…
-said diversity could be a weakness
-continued to repeatedly mispronounce “Mamdami”
-CONFUSED TWO BLACK ANCHORS WITH EACH OTHER

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE

SECOND INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE OVER ZOOM TO MEET MORE OF THE TEAM

UNFORTUNATELY, YOU HAVE NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL ON THIS OCCASION, BUT WE HOPE YOU'LL APPLY FOR FUTURE POSITIONS WITH THE VAMPIRE
Seven years ago today, we bought our house! We continued the beloved tradition of tacos for dinner and cider from the local cidery where we had our first date.
Happy Gotcha Day you little idiot. You've been loving us for four years now, and we love you right back.
Yeah, there are pictures from their wedding where he's in some fairly traditional garb. So at the very least he was willing to do that sort of thing if it was important to her/made her happy. That's certainly not who he is now.
I do feel a little bad for her. She obviously married a very different person.
You know, this whole thing with Erika Kirk is going to make the 2028 primary season so much more entertaining.
This is a good reminder. If your area has pet food banks, consider donating. A bag of dry food goes a long way.
If you can, Cats, and Dogs will need to be fed also. Donating Pet Food would be a huge blessing. Please, and thank you.
Election official here, get out and vote! Otherwise we'll be bored all day!
She's clearly familiar with grabbing his head.
There also needs to be a cumulative limit of time in elected office. Power stagnates if it's held for too long by the same person. 25 years max in elected office, at any level.
I've been very uncomfortable the last two days and my hip FINALLY popped tonight and I am SO EXCITED FOR A DECENT NIGHT OF SLEEP Y'ALL.
Also CNN: damn why doesn't anyone take us seriously any more
My husband constantly refers to me as the cats' mom, so, you know. Definitely can't ever run for office.

Do you have a memory so vivid you can relive it?

@campsydept.bsky.social and @durham.ac.uk are exploring how vivid human memories work across our lives – and how ideas about them have evolved over time.

Your experiences could help us understand memory better.

"Oxford commas are a sign you write with ai" I will find such a unique way to rip out your spine that they'll make a movie about it

This is an abstract that has not even been presented. In addition, the data base used does not even control for socioeconomic status. We CANNOT assign cause and effect here. At best this is a signal to inform further research.
New research shows that perimenopausal women who had used estrogen for at least 10 years before their periods stopped for good had 60% lower odds for breast cancer, heart attack and stroke, compared to women who never took hormones.

i liked how Platner was campaigning and I am prepared to believe a young marine could make literally any stupid mistake. but I don't believe a guy could spend twenty years maturing politically the way he has and not know what a death's head means

I'm disappointed with the news about Platner and his tattoo. I thought his message was a good one and his points, like "I don't know anyone who can afford to buy a house," were simple and effective.

But no one with a fucking Nazi tattoo belongs in government. Period.
BSG did it better and B5 was the absolute GOAT. This was...not good.
