if something like lesswrong existed to reward the dissemination of trivially demonstrated, trivially proved case studies and didactic examples (for why the 'high dimensional problem' insights are valuable) utilitarianism could maybe survive, but such institutions dont exist anymore :(
i think there are several solutions to this family of philosophical/mathematical mistakes but they all require intuitions about integration or optimization over high dimensional + random-component variables.
i need the erowid trip report for this family of chemicals
"I've been really into reading the Worm arc this week"

"oh, the wildbow web serial? I liked that a lot"

"who's wildbow?"

i forgot this was the worm part sonnet became a beetle later and that was actually the longer arc
this is a beautiful paper in a few other places as well
still, i'm not sure that feeling *can't* be rich, more that it can't be richly detailed in the way that expressions of thought and deliberate signals are easily made more and more rich in detail (esp. detail of contents).
maybe thought is good at containing contents, feeling something different?
but like, an expression faithfully reactivating a strong part of what inspired it seems like an electromechanical relay, a telephone pole carrying a salvo of telegraph motions.
whatever the substance of feeling is seems to be rediscoverable by, but not the same as, expression.
i think i feel a *little* suspicious of feeling as a supreme container of detailed, rich, substantative, contents.
(take note of the weird, stiff formulation: `"i think..." (that) "...i feel..." (that i am) a...`)
to me, it's very sus to dispute that expressions reactivate feelings.
huh that's a really fun post!
i think its worth reflecting long and hard on whether your reflections feel the same way if you express them in writing, song, bee type coordinative signalling-dance, figures, etc. if they miss something in expression, are they real as reflections?
ouching at that one
ahhh now this is a videogame
it like, well, you see, i can't explain it.
there's a lot more code needed to improve really basic algorithmic features before there's time to show off what's working better than other image synthesizer tools.
these pictures should explain more than words can.
oh yeah the slider thingy

"by scialabba in his shifting perception of hitchen's eloquence..."
dark souls item description prose
by scialabba in his shifting perception of hitchen's eloquence and brilliance when he does vs doesn't agree with him, though I can't find the passage I know exists in a minute or two of rifling around google
there are actually some ways you can use an advanced ai image generation model which has a really obvious motif (BROWN lol its SEPIA in here haha) to inform dataset design, filtering, annotation, and maybe some kinds of augmentation? but it gets trickier and more labor heavy.
unfortunately the statistical error signature to their model (dude BROWN) is so exquisitely varied in its presentation and manifest forms that they are really gonna struggle to use their current tech for synthetic data generation
learning to relax the tension/attachment/binding which yearns (both) to game (and to suppress the yearning for gaming) will release a drain on your attention which necessarily must be present both while gaming and not gaming

relax expectations for accomplishment through deliberate effort
balance seemingly purposeful activities with seemingly purposeless ones (going on walks, attentively preparing simple foods, flickshotting heads) to better understand the cost and value of either
type of guy who does a wavelet transform on his kids and says 'look its still peaking second' to the stats poster
i was mortified for a moment that someone was writing arithmetic units from first principles and physically sighed with relief when it was factorio belts on the right hand side
sparse coding of emoji so that storing a large maximum number of emoji per post doesn't crank db storage costs to product: dictionary_size, user_interactions
"even though we know we see phenomena, not noumena (easily revealed by closing your eyes and drinking from the obscured cup) we still reach for phenomena and feel that we're adressing noumena" is, despite it all, something to be said in every generation
